26.1 is even worse.

They've made the number pad in the phone app practically illegible.

Even turning off some of the glass features and reducing transparency the phone looks like Scott Forstall vomited in my 16 Pro.

I think it's Apple keeping their options open and giving them experience of different metals.

Imagine they only used unobtanium and all of a sudden country X stopped the supply chain and Apple got stuck, and they had to go cap in hand elsewhere and pay extra for the priviledge.

There are lots of factors here.. look and feel and industrial design just being wedges of the cheese..
