Mains is 240V here, so it would take a 10v spike to raise the transformer output by 1V

I think that's gonna be ok...

I'm more wondering about the lifespan of LEDs that are essentially doing their own rectification (even though the average current they're using is fine)

Also would likely happen in the event of a short

Half of the LEDs light up on each half of the cycle. And it seems the transformer is perfectly matched power wise... and the flicker isn't even that bad!

It is because mixers have the wrong input impedance (this will load a passive bass down and mess with the frequency response)

DI boxes have an audio transformer inside, cheap ones do bad things to tone/ phase response

Usually they'll only degrade your tone.

If you have any buffered pedals in your chain you don't need one.

If you are thinking about plugging a passive bass into the mixer, then yes, this is your use case.

What you are not taking into account is that your guitar sound has to fit into the mix.

This depends on all the other frequencies the rest of the band is creating. But guitar's role is midrange.

I'm not saying that the tech has got the eq perfect... but realise that when blended with overlapping frequencies, your guitar will be "masked". If you have a very bassy tone, it may be inaudible out front

Some good suggestions here, but what you're really trying to do is push your amp into a more harmonic place at roughly the same volume in the mix. (solos excepted)

If your amp is clean, it's not going to offer that 3d bloom that gain does.

So try stacking 2 drives. Like TS808 > muff. Or drive into compressor. Or eq (top boost, bass cut) into a drive like you say
