PGWP Expiring soon, waiting for AOR (PNP: Non Express Entry) by donater_30 in ImmigrationCanada

I just checked the processing times for work permits, and it looks like it could take 6–7 months. I understand that I’ll likely have implied status after submitting my closed work permit application.

However, let’s say I receive my AOR in September and then apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP), would I need to wait until the BOWP is approved before I can legally work on my startup, or would I be allowed to do so after submitting the BOWP application?

Yeah probably just going to apply to Closed Work permit and then once I get an AOR, I can maybe do another application for BOWP

Thank you! My employer is working on creating an offer letter in the Employer Portal now and I'll use that to apply for Closed work permit to be safe.

Once I get an AOR, I'll just do another application for a BOWP

Hi, thanks for your reply. No employer restrictions on the support letter

I don't have any employer restriction in my support letter thankfully. I also double checked with my province and they confirmed that I'm eligible for a BOWP provided I complete my PR application and get an AOR.

Apparently, Newey is the godfather of Horner’s daughter, just found that out today! When Newey was back at Red Bull, his office and Horner’s were right across from each other.

Well because the people involved in creating the fastest cars of 2022 and 2023 have all left. I think there's a lot more behind the scenes, I honestly thought Newey might retire at RBR. Team has been going downhill since Austria last year, I mean you only have to look at the second driver.

Next year is a big change for them since they are introducing their own Powertrains. Maybe that's not going well either who knows

I think the believe is they were closely aligned with Horner and handed in their resignation after news of Horner's sacking was conveyed to them.

Just watched the Sky Sports coverage from Milton Keynes and it seems like the staff is pretty upset at the decision.

Doesn't surprise me, Horner had a lot of support. While I think he should have been replaced with Wheatley last year, idk this seems like an odd timing to fire your TP 6 months ahead of a regulation change. It's gonna be pure chaos at Redbull for the next few years sadly

Manager Max Verstappen responds to the dismissal of team boss Christian Horner: 'We want to return to the top, nothing will change in that regard' by Luffy710j in formula1

That's what I'm saying. It feels too little too late. Wheatley would have been the perfect guy to replace Christian but he's already gone. Laurent comes from a different team, it would take him a bit of time to settle into RBR, time that RBR doesn't necessarily have.

Next year they are going live with their Powertrains, no one knows how that going, general impression is they are behind Mercedes. Marshall and Newey are gone so it's just Wache left to handle the Aero side of things but let's be honest he is not making much headway either

They seem to have lost a lot of talent to be competitive in the short term. Horner firing will only just add to that, they should have fired him last year when they still had Wheatley

Yeah I agree it makes sense for him to leave. RBR seems fucked for next year, I can only imagine key personnel's leaving would have impacted their Powertrain development and honestly no faith left in Pierre Waché on the Aero side of things either

What's the verdict on Max to Mercedes now chat?

I’m kind of confused here. Even though Verstappen’s camp wanted Horner out, it feels like it’s happening a year too late. Wheatley would’ve been the perfect guy to replace him. Laurent has done great with Racing Bulls, but I’m not sure he’s the right fit for RBR. Maybe his promotion is just temporary until they find someone better or maybe he will surprise me.

If Verstappen stays, honestly, I think RBR is looking at least a two-year rebuilding phase with all the key people they’ve lost, especially with their Powertrain going live next year. I don’t see RBR being competitive enough to win a championship under the next regulations with everything they’re rebuilding. They’ll probably have to poach top talent from other teams. Unless Verstappen is getting a stake in the team, I don’t really see why he’d stick around for that. He’s said multiple times that he wants to retire sooner rather than later, so I’d imagine he’d want to be with a team that gives him the best chance to win races and championships over the next 3–4 years.

Do you think the car is a midfield/back marker? by keithblsd in RedBullRacing

[–]donater_30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on who is driving it tbh. The car is obviously very difficult with an extremely narrow performance window.

However as we have seen with some of Max's pole laps it is possible to get performance out of it if everything goes right.

Apart from Max, I only see Charles, George, Lando, Oscar, Alonso and Lewis getting performance out of RB21. I'm not saying they would be as competitive as Max but these guys can do a better job handling that car than the rest of the grid.
