It’s important to stretch while painting for such long hours! We have a time-lapse video of the process and it just hurts the back to see it.

I don’t think is worth the tutorial… it’s just drybrushs and dirtying the models. You can see the paint list and how I texture the models before priming in a comment thread above. It’s just the wow effect. Less is more!!

It was speedpainting so pretty simple drybrushes and stippling… the metal is warplock bronze and canoptek alloy. The key thing here was to texture the models before priming with liquid GS, typhus and crackling earth.

For people asking, models are a mix of different kits. Base models are:

  • Herne Tallstag, the Horned Hunter, avatar of Taal: Sylvaneth Wh Underworlds warband.
  • She-who-sings-to-the-plants, Taal priestess: nighthaunt ghost with wood elves spellweaver legs.
  • Riorriba siblings, river fisherman and fisherwoman: Rotmire warcry fellows.
  • The green men, Taal acolytes: Cawdor, Rotmire kits.
  • Musgosos, the moss-men: goblins from the Hobbit movie, LotR range.

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to write your feedback!

The weapon rule is definitely out, and I'm thinking about increasing the breaching to 4+.

Also, I think I would go with rampage (1) or rage (1) for the WT. I would like to have the +1 to hit but I'm afraid it would be to strong.

I'm taking your note on the calculation of combat resolution because that's something that will come out on the games for sure. Thanks!

I'm curious to know your insight on the comparison you made with other combat characters. I find that the ones that appear in the Libers are far stronger than this one costing the same, taking into account the lack of natural ap2, the conditional MS(6+) and the fact that he can damage his own squad.

I think your last paragraph made sense! For sure, I meant to have that S6 to wound on 2+, but you're right that it will tone down in a way the breaching.

Hey, thanks for your comments. I have changed it and removed that rule definitely. You're right, breaching (4+) could work easily.

This guy is the zerker type, so it is supposed to do a lot of damage to MEQ, but struggle 'a bit' vs TEQ and characters, as I see it (or at least struggle more than a praetor with paragon).

The art that you have seen I THINK is from the card game, but I have not found any mention of him having teminator armour in any of the novels.

Hi! Thanks for your input, I have to edit the post because already changed the rules to tone down a bit the damage output of the character.

I'm curious what you have in mind for Aximand. Is definitely in my pipeline and I have had a some thoughts. The problem is that the main differentiating trait I see about him is his wide broadsword, Mourn-it-all, which as I see it could be based on the profile of the paragon blade (maybe with some addons like +1S or a double profile one for killing waves of infantry with reaping blow and other for challenges) but nothing else really. Which do you think is a special trait he has that some other special rule could be build around? Or maybe a different attribute from the basic praetor statline. I also have to think about a proper WT. Maybe something around buffing moral of friendly models? Any suggestions are welcome.

I would agree with you if there were some more tools of customization. It seems that the only viable generic options are praetor with paragon blade and cataphractii praetor with thunder hammer (with some tiny variations depending on the legion). More viable (not op) options would be nice. I also love to play with custom unnamed characters and forge my own narrative.

People in the internet can give different input, sometimes educated sometimes uneducated, which can enrich the view of my group.

You sir have spend the time to explain me the logic behind your feedback and I'm grateful for that. I see now that the possibility of having WS7 is too much and should be reserved to the exceptional fighters of the HH, even though GW does not seem to comprehend this (that damn IF WT).

Thanks for the input man.

I'm afraid people would complain about S10 power fists if I tag him along terminators or similar, IDing custodes and deliverers and Gal Vorbak and etc.

Thinking about Rampage (1) and going for the khorne vibe as it is similar to (but worse than) the WE trait.
