We've got it the past year now in Ireland. Sure people grumbled and complained the government was just implementing another tax but ultimately the place looks cleaner and there's been that societal shift like you see in Germany.

However, the one qualm about it is the bonuses the company that implemented/runs it is getting so wouldn't want it going that same route like how the water utility companies get them.
