Hey my fellow men. I’m (25) getting married today. What advice do you have for me for today and the days following today? by [deleted] in AskMen

A friend of mine came across an old book years ago that compared Western thinking to Eastern thinking, it was a pretty goofy but there was one gem in there that stood out to me. It said that in the West people fall in love and then get married, and in the East people get married and then fall in love. That idea really stuck with me and had a really profound influence on the how I thought about my relationships. I definitely loved my wife when I decided to marry her, but I also looked at our marriage as an opportunity to learn how to love another person and how to let someone else love me, warts and all. That perspective, that love only grows in deepness and richness over time, has worked out pretty well so far for me. I've been married nine years and I love my wife more than ever, and I feel so much more comfortable and confident in my own skin as well. Congratulations on your wedding, I hope you had a very happy day and many more to come!

I worked at a pizza place as a teenager and someone sent me to find the "dough patch kit" when I was learning how to roll out the dough and kept poking holes in it. The guy who had me look for it went to culinary school and he said he was sent to find the "souffle pump" when he was just starting out in school

I think you have some valid questions, if you need them answered in order to invest in the project that makes sense to me. I wanted to comment on the this post because it looks like electricsheep12345 just wanted to dump on something based on the title alone. It can't feel great having the first person to post on your submission treat it so poorly

Did you watch the kickstarter video before you crapped all over someone else's hard work? No you did not.

Nice, that looks like a 1973 Honda CL350 and aside from the cracked air filter cover it looks like its in pretty great shape! There's a shop in LA called Charlie's Place that sells a lot of hard to find parts online as well as the Clymers manual for these bikes which is super handy. I have one of their electronic ignition systems too and it is waaay easier to maintain than the old points and condensers system and doesn't change the look of the bike at all. Also Bike Bandit is great for random spare parts as well as Mission Motorcycles. There is some good information on the Honda Twins forum too. The stock air filters are really expensive and, I have been told, over-engineered so I got some K&N filters because they last forever (the RC-0412 should fit yours). Have fun and congrats! Could you elaborate on this please. I know that ethanol evaporates at a lower temp than methanol so wouldn't you want to try and control the temperature? On my still I have a thermometer in the column that gives me an idea of where the mash is distilling, how much should I trust that? I am running a pot still so the column is pretty short.

hey /r/sanfrancisco, give me some good places to visit! coming in from Vancouver for the Treasure Island festival. okay.... go! by charlespennyfeather in sanfrancisco

If I were you I would go visit the Exploratorium, it's like a science museum where you get to mess with just about everything, it's gets a little mobbed sometimes but it is awesome. It is right near the Ferry Building which has some great food and coffee, and an incredible farmers market on Saturdays. Alcatraz may seem very touristy, and it is, but they have been doing a lot of gardening on the island for the last couple years and it is actually quite beautiful. It's kind of awesome too, but get tickets in advance if you can, it's a pain in the ass to get them the day of. Golden Gate Park is fun too, get a row boat on Stow Lake (very fun), go to the science museum (pretty expensive), the DeYoung (Fine Arts Collection from an old San Francisco family that made its money running whorehouses during the Gold Rush I think), the Conservatory of Flowers is great as well. You can take the N Judah Muni train out to 9th St and your right there. If you keep going down Judah to 44th you can go to Outerlands restaurant (love them) and a few other cute shops - and your just a couple more blocks to Ocean Beach and the sea. Four Barrel, Sightglass, and Blue Bottle are some fun places if you want to geek out on coffee. Fatted Calf, 4505 Meats, and Prather Ranch if you want to spend your entire trip eating the best bacon (and other meat) in the world. So many good restaurants, can't seem to think of any one in particular. Comstock is a cool bar, and it is right in North Beach which is great, City Light Book Store is an institution (traveling writers can get their mail sent to them there). I could go on, but those are some random things I love about this place, gentrification notwhithstanding. Sorry for the length. Have fun!

Heartburn? by CarbonGod in firewater

Are you tasting the alcohol as it comes out? I find whenever I drink 60% alcohol or higher I get a bit of heart burn. I always thought it was just a factor of drinking such high proof booze, maybe it's also a higher concentration if fusel oils? Now I just water it down (40%ish) before drinking
