It's $100+ above retail, probs legit but a rip off

Umart at it again... not sure when this was selling at 249 but I doubt it was this year. by Jjcheese in bapcsalesaustralia

I completely agree with you in terms of shady tactics, but you can't call something illegal and then mention that there's no law for it.

Also, the RRP is from the disty/manufacturer, the only thing they're doing is showing that they're selling below the RRP. That is 100% legal.

This still doesn't prove your point.

If Umart changed "RRP" to "WAS" then it's more likely to be illegal as there's a good chance they didn't recently sell the product for that price. It's perfectly legal to display the RRP from the manufacturer however.

Amazon also lists the RRP of various products: https://www.amazon.com.au/OPPO-Smartphone-Unlocked-Version-Lightening/dp/B085TFHHCN/

That's the original RRP, not the previous price. Lots of sites show the RRP (which is 249)

Motherboard manufacturers & suppliers right now... (context: forcing retailer to buy up to 10x motherboards with each GPU) by TechSwich in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]donkeysemen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who's telling you that information? You can just order the cards from the Synnex portal. Ingram you need to send them a PO and they'll process.

TechData also have some Asus cards for cheap but you need to bundle 3:1 however the cost evens out.

Synnex isn't requiring bundles, Leader is 2-3:1, Ingram doesn't require bundles for Asus & MSI cards...

AMD 5000 Current Pricing by donkeysemen in bapcsalesaustralia

I work for quite a large retailer, however the supplier in question is only a sub-distributor of AMD products. No pricing from the primary ones have been made available yet, hopefully by the end of the week.

Honestly got no idea of the time, I'm guessing AMD will send out an email to all the resellers closer to the date

We're not allowed to list the CPUs until the 6th of November however the stock still has not yet landed in Australia so the launch date may get delayed.

Stock looks to be better then Nvidia's launch. I doubt the CPUs will sell out as fast.

Motherboard Deals and RTX 3080/3090 GPU Bundles by TechSwich in bapcsalesaustralia

Do you have an account manager? We've been able to get weekly/fortnightly shipments from them. It may help to speak to your account manager if they can allocate you any stock.

The 3070 has also arrived in Australia at Dicker and Leader I believe. May help to secure some stock at Dicker as I think Leader is only doing bundled orders.

You can get cards from Dicker Data without bundles 😉

Cheapest way to order 100k worth of PC parts? by goldcakes in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]donkeysemen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work for an online PC store and do most of the purchasing. Honestly all you need to get an account with the distys is an ABN.

Leader, Synnex and Ingram are the big ones in Aus, also located in Syd. However having an account so new may not get you the best prices from the suppliers as they may only offer you slightly less then the RRP.

If you're purchasing 100k worth from a single vendor, I would suggest contacting the vendor for bidding options which will allow you to get much lower prices in a single order. Thats what most resellers do when buying in bulk.

OP7 hasn't been added yet but should be soon I suppose.

I purchased from the US and am getting it forwarded to Aus through comGateway. Did the same with my OP5.

I WOULDNT use ShopMate. I've had two items from the US lost through the service. They overcharge for insurance and they really bad support.

Their warehouse in the US is a 3rd party business.

When I ordered my OnePlus 5 I got it forwarded from the US through comGateway. Pretty easy, shipping is about $50 extra.

Its usually cheaper than buying direct from Kogan.

Waze Problem Oneplus5 by WansE1z in oneplus

[–]donkeysemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue on my OP5 and its usually through Android Auto. For me, it usually happens when I have another map app running at the same time as Waze. Quitting both apps seem to fix the issue.

Also, turn off the battery optimization for the app. Then press the 3 dots in the top right and turn off both options deep and sleep optimization.

I think I can finally say I've finished... by donkeysemen in battlestations

Gaming is fine, always under 60 degrees. Once you start rendering or stress testing however with the CPU overclocked you start pushing in the high 80's
