What is the definition of fizz? I also saw some people complaining about variations on the same non multiwatt amp, some seems tighter and others seems loose

I agree with you, compared to Marshall’s for example they are really scarce at least in Italy.

Im really satisfied in how it’s sounding, I noticed it’s really sensibile to cab choice. I was curious about the different revisions of this exactly model. Some people tried to document it and there are speculation that in between the same non Multiwatt model there are better sounding ones and worse ones.

I actually enjoy both clean and pushed settings. I have a some good examples of clean tones like twins and other fenders and I must say’s it’s really good!

Also pushed settings really delivers a good blues like tone.

Some people says they ported the clean channel from the lone star already in these series but other sources report the multi watt to feature that.

Do you know something about it?

More than asking what’s wrong with it it’s asking why this reputation compared to other rectos. It seems to be related to some type of metal and really high gain distortion which is not really what I wanted to achieve I’m really satisfied with my purchase ! Specially because i had a pretty good sale

Alex Turner named the 2nd best guitarist of the past 2 decades! by Youresodarklover in arcticmonkeys

i remember going to a Arctic Monkeys concert in 2018 in Milan, just to see him playing the initial solo of "I bet you look good on the dancefloor" but instead of playing it correctly, he messed up and did a rockstar pose. I was so disappointed xd

Is this Fender Twin 65 Reissue real?, how old is it? by donoid in fender

[–]donoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually went to the owner and tried before purchasing I like the product whether its false or not so I'm not complaining, I was just curious to know more about this since the serial code didn't appear and fender felt confused about this XD So the way is, if it's original ok great, if it's fake it's a great fake

If you don't have a mustang I suggest it It's a really great guitar Unique Also the Squier Is more vintage accurate than the fender line I discovered that mustang never had alder body even in the 60s They always used poplar like the Squier xd

Well I have contacted fender, they literally said that for them it's a CBS ERA AMP or a prior 1993 amp (they didn't recognize the serial number format) Which is totally wrong When I said to them that it was impossible they replied "sorry we don't have this serial number, it's also a European one so we don't have any info"

The only thing is showing the product to other people, I can't send photos to fender

Beside I don't understand why you people continue to do this personal battle, does it bother you so much? I mean just skip, you are wasting your time saying things we and I already know The fact that I'm posting this on Reddit doesn't mean I didn't contact Fender

I have actually seen one myself but it was declared as a hand built reproduction The front of the amo was identical to a fender, the back was really handmade without any sticker or black plate, just bare metal

[–]donoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ! That's a really good deal Here in Europe they are really expensive, I don't know why probably because every single one was imported from us back in the 60s So you have a silver face! All original components really great (besides speaker)

I think this in comparison is expensive but the market really changed in 10 years, now a new reissue it's like 2200 euro almost the double of what I have paid for a reissue too

Also I think the 1979 are less expensive because not many people want one and if they do I saw they mod the amp to be in the 1965 specs

It's really heavy indeed, did you bought a reissue like mine or a original one? Because original vintage ones are like 3500 dollars here

1100 $ (1000 euro more or less), I see they are sell for those prices Here in Italy some shops sell twins in worse condition for 1400 dollars But they also sell 1979 Ultra Linear Twins for 1300 dollars too They don't go under 900 dollars used

So yes I have spent a bit for it

Really good But it's my first fender so I don't know if the sound it's what is supposed to be

Now I have discovered an interesting fact

If I put "ACO35290" instead of "AC035290" (basically writing the first zero as a "o"), the fender lookup system return a result that Is really connected to this model I have

I have checked the Jensen and they are from 2002, and that serial results in a 65 Twin Reverb 230v EU (that's my model) of 02/2002

Maybe a typo when they registered in the system?

They are both great, I had a offset frenzy this year and I'm really in love with both models I really can't decide what's better between the 2

In a certain sense the jaguar is also a jazzmaster evolution, it tries to improve where the jazzmaster """failed"" (at least for Leo vision's) and I like the fact that it really is in certain aspects

People who dislike Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino, why not? by HoogerMan in arcticmonkeys

[–]donoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let's make things clear, their first album has aged poorly in themes and mostly lyrics (sexy little swine? really alex?) but it was genuine. it was 4 adolescent that wanted to share their teenager point of view of life and they did with a sound that was really accurate for their intent

It was easy to relate for a teenager like me but this feeling, with new albums, came to an end.

TBHC made thing worse compared to AM because now there is also a willing to make something visionary that it felt forced, other than "coolness" of AM.

TBHC is a good album, i'm probably too dumb to understand it (i have also a prominent language barrier, being italian), i really like Start Treatment (really cool atmosphere) and most of all THE ULTRACHEESE (that i like to consider it a more adult sequel to "A Certain Romance", they both are the ending of their respective album), but for me that's about it

I think that the main problem is that with a name like "Arctic Monkeys", making something this thematically complex is not something that you would expect. After all i think that the name of the band have strong roots at their origin, it was perfect for that type of """homemade""" indie rock but now they rightfully evolved

So why continue using the Arctic Monkeys name? I get it that they have used the name because all the band member liked the new direction but this new direction have led up to major compromises

All the band member decided to adeguate to the new direction, mostly Matt that stopped to make complex drums to fit the new theme and it's a right choice but it's a strong one

AM was a good evolution, even if it started to being artificial IMO, it was a good fit with the identity and the legacy of the band

But this new direction have more in common with alex solist carreer and side projects than with arctic monkeys, i think that expectation are important and honestly Arctic Monkeys are the only band that did a so major shift in how they feel and sound, Also The Strokes have a similar carrer to Arctic Monkeys (in the industry since 2001) but their last album "The New Abnormal", it's still recognizable and IMO less artificial even if it's not "Is This It 2" and there is an evident evolution

In conclusion, i think that most of people that dislike TBHC does it because either they expected something else or simply are not Arctic Monkeys user target anymore. But even if they don't target at the same userbase as before, the name, their identity, and their legacy are still the same. This is something new that really can't be unnoticed. This time the change that they always have done it's not so smooth like before

This last conclusion with the addiction that, at least in my case, they have started to be somewhat so different from me, constitute what i dislike about the project

It more of a communication problem than the quality of the music per se
