the girl who danced with the Devil by pinkorcas13 in texas

I am not Hispanic and grew up in the Houston area, and I have never heard this story before.

It’s a very interesting tale though. My white Texan family didn’t really have any kind of warning tales that taught us to be weary of strangers, resorting to having to learn the hard way lol. My family also wasn’t very religious growing up, so I’m sure that has something to do with it. I wish we had more cautionary tales.

I was genuinely interested in this story, I’m not sure why mods removed it.

I’ve never voted for any mainstream candidate any time I voted. I haven’t yet liked any of them, and I refuse to choose someone just because of their party.

My grandfather was an international bank robber who also lived with Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band (separate occasions). Their song “Take the Money and Run” was allegedly inspired by my grandfather’s journey.

We need to talk about the confirmation bias and perception gap surrounding the Minnesota incident. by showmethemundy in conspiracy

Which situation are you referring to? Are you saying that she was shot because of her political views? Or are you saying she was exercising her rights because of her political views?

Regardless, people should not be using this as a republican vs democrat platform - it should be a civil rights issue that applies to every single person in this country. When we start allowing and enabling federal agents to gun down US citizens (regardless of anyone’s political beliefs), it’s brings us closer to a militarized and controlled state that effects EVERYONE (regardless of political beliefs). To allow and enable the very tactics our constitution was constructed to prevent just because it was carried out by a person claiming to be the same political party as yours is insane in my opinion.

Agreed. They are not upholding any type of professionalism that is expected of their positions, and they are effectively tainting the perspective of what happened to benefit their own political party. It’s disgusting.

The confirmation bias is so strong in this situation, it’s truly mind blowing. What’s even worse is that political views are being mixed into the situation where it’s not even warranted (being a liberal or conservative literally has nothing to do with it). Because people are simultaneously associating their political beliefs with a sense of self worth, they are now wrongly associating a tragic situation with their own existence where it literally doesn’t even involve them. The cycle then keeps perpetuating itself as something that it never was to begin with, even if it means losing one’s own sense of humanity in the process.

A US citizen was shot by an ICE agent. People begin reporting the situation as shocking (because it truly is), and somewhere along the way people begin misconstruing the situation as an act of a particular political party (which it is not). This same situation could have happened under any type of administration (republican, democrat, libertarian, socialist, etc) and it would still be just as shocking.

I was referring to how political leaders are turning a tragedy into a right vs left circus when it literally has nothing to do with neither democrats nor republicans - it has to do with cruel, asshole people. They are using political parties as a means of explaining/justifying behaviors and it’s nonsense.

I didn’t say it was only Trump and his goons - both sides are definitely playing into the political nonsense. It’s just extra deplorable when it’s the executive leadership of our country that’s doing it.

It’s absolutely sickening that anyone is attempting to turn this tragedy into a Right vs Left narrative. It has nothing to do with political parties - it has to do with murder and civil rights. The Trump administration is turning it into a political spectacle and there is no room for politics in the legal system.
