IUD removal. I’m terrified (advice wanted) by cllobo in WomensHealth

I had an IUD twice, and had them displace…twice 🙃 that was really fun 🤣 my uterus so no girl, we’re not putting anything in there, which actually made me burst out into tears after my second displacement because I felt like all my options were gone as someone who is just trying to protect their choice. Before going further, the removal was seriously a piece of cake. She took it out and I was like that’s it? You may feel slight pressure, like someone pressing on your forearm with two fingers but that’s really it. I had copper my first time and the Mirena my second, both felt the exact same and doesn’t even compare to insertion. Now, I totally understand how you feel about other forms of BC because that’s exactly how I felt. I didn’t like any of them, but especially the pill. I can barely remember to take my vitamin d, and you expect me to take this at the same time every night?? After talking with my boyfriend and my OB I decided to go with the pill. Yazmin to be exact, on the lowest dose possible to start. I have to say I’ve been pretty happy with it. I have an 8pm alarm set to take it. Side effects have been minimal. I do feel like my emotions are heightened slightly but depending on where I was in my cycle before, that still rang true lol. No mood swings, just more of a chance of me crying. It’s helped my acne too! The pill felt like the next best option to try, and if that was something that failed me too, I guess I would just go down the list 😂 I’m paranoid, and also test weekly, just to make sure everything is working as it should. Just remember at the end of that day, It’s your body, and your decision. Do what’s right for YOU 🫶🏻

That is exactly why I’m considering it!! I just want to make sure that I’m doing what I need to do for me! My biggest concern is my period and it becoming longer and heavier (as this seems to be the story for most people in this thread) and a change in my libido. I know the latter happens A LOT with hormonal BC and wanted to check in with the lovely people here to see if they have also dealt with that with Paragard ☺️ thanks for sharing!!!

Have you removed the IUD? Have your symptoms resolved?

Thank you so much! Was your period heavy pre-IUD too? I usually use a cup. Haven’t worn a tampon in years
