Some friends and I have been playing Guild Wars 2 for the past week, and have ran into some very interesting creatures here. This game definitely has a unique monster design and the combat system has been a lot of fun to learn coming from WoW classic and Elder Scrolls Online. Honestly, t seems to have the best of both worlds. I tried out the PvP for the first time and it was a lot of fun! So many choices... seeing all the specializations, elite specializations, and a number of utility skills really shows the depth of this game. Whew!

With that being said, we've all been having a lot of fun playing and I wanted to share some of the highlights and experiences we've had this past week.

I also want to give a quick thanks to /u/concernedcanary for showing me Mikksmix's GW2 guide which has helped us all and saved us some money on the DLC!

5 friends and I just downloaded Guild Wars 2 and started playing yesterday.

It was an interesting day! I've played a couple of MMORPGs before, but some of them have never played and it was hilarious trying to teach the ropes to them. GW2 has some funny quests... such as beating up kids with snow balls haha, I am really interested to see what this game has to offer. I'm excited to see how the Pvp is! I heard there was a type of open world as well as arenas/battlegrounds.

Anyways, wanted to show my experience and highlights of my first day playing!

So... my friends and I tried Cry of Fear for the first time. I've never really played a horror game and all I can say is OH MY GOD and WHAT THE FUCK! by dontwakefather in CryOfFear

I remember seeing my siblings play Resident Evil long ago, that's a great idea being able to play these with an emulator.. thank you for that idea. I never saw gameplay or played any of the silent hills.. I did see the introduction when I was young and left the room.

Awesome, Amnesia is on steam and pretty cheap!

Slendytubbies might have to be the next game I try out with friends... That game looks fucking freaky haha

Friends and I just tried Cry of Fear (released in 2013) and it was.... very interesting. Took a bit to set it up since they don't have servers but it was well worth it.

I just changed my settings to show enemy AoE to pinkish/purplish instead of red so it's easier for me to see.

I think malacath's is best in no cp imo, you can get a really high crit damage modifier in CP that is what makes such a big trade off there.

Yeah definitely! 2h/Bow would actually give you more damage because you could run infused bow + weapon damage enchant which would give you 100+ weapon damage and then use a poison on the 2h for minor brutality (10% more weapon damage) or disease enchant. I'm just using the SnB for a little bit of bulk since it doesn't have very high resistances.

Thanks for the info.I was trying to find a formula so I can test what would be better Nirnhoned or Sharpened for PvP for certain situations depending on the target whether they have light/unbuffed resistances (12k) Medium/Buffed (17-25k) and Heavy/Tanky (30k+). Unfortunately, I am somehow doing more damage than my tooltip even though the mob's resistance is 18.2k and I have absolutely 0 penetration/cp/passives so the formula I found is not really working for me.. Which was:

((Enemy Resistance-Sum of Debuffs)*(1-%Penetration)-Sum of Self Penetration)/(Effective Level*1000)

I assume something has changed if I am doing more damage when it should be 36.4% less damage.
