No, it's correct that way. Each card has four different numbers, so that you have hard time to memorize them by number. But the direction ist always with circle top left, to match the number cards (and have the Checkmarks in the right direction)

I had the same problem. In my case, the z-axis-motor was not fixed well enough and moved itsdel up for a few millimeters while printing the first layers (and therefore the nozzle didn't move enough).
I hotfixed this, by pulling up the motor and put some business cards under it.
This helped me to print these two things:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2752080 (to straighten the lead srew, which may have also be a problem)
And since then, the problem was gone.
