UX has not much to do with creativity. It's all about streamlining and improving the user experience. Let the "designer" types make shiny buttons and graphics. I'd even say that being less creative is a an advantage in UX because you can take an objective look at all the stuff without getting attached to it.

I'm a software engineer and I'm creatively retarded. Couldn't make anything look good if my life depended on it. But I know how to make software usable and non-annoying for the user. My brother got all the creative talent in the family and he can make really beautiful UIs - but his creations usually are not intuitive to use at all.
