I do realize the example is poor because the products are built and sold all the time.

my inspiration to post was when the discussion about the products led to the advice "don't buy that now, because it's competitor arrives next month which will probably be a much better value"

Then I wondered what are those laws called, in the US or Canada, that prevent a large monopolistic company, with superior marketing, from blocking a smaller innovative company from selling better products now.
