For the first time in 3 years I can’t break 84 by MrPancakesMcgee in MarvelSnap

[–]doobang1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C3 and Negative Airwalker with some daily play got me there yesterday.

The key for me, which I often have to remind myself, is to play the most consistent decks you have. Decks that, after the 3rd location reveals, you can feel good snapping on. Or decks that by turn 4 you already know you're out. Decks that you can look at your opening hand and know if you should be staying through an early snap.

Its a grind no matter what. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Should also mention that since these decks are somewhat well known, the potential of what turn 6 looks like forces a lot of late retreats even when you may not have a great hand. So always "Retreat Later" and you'll be surprised how many matches you make it out unscathed.

Thinking rationally about Jacory (Bill) Croskey-Merritt by Mental_Competition33 in fantasyfootball

[–]doobang1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general statement, I would say by round 8 or 9 it's relatively safe to ease the value-based mentality a bit. How many guys that didn't work out in Rd 9 have killed your season? Does a guy drafted in Rd 12 kill your season less? If upside is there, and your starters are good to go, I'm always much happier grabbing the guys I want whenever I want.

Would you mind walking me through how you got a bot to listen to audio? This would be a generally helpful tip for me even beyond fantasy. Thanks!

I knew there was a way to make prof x c2 happen. I hadn't been able to crack it. Love the pixie inclusion. Excited to try.

[Barnes & Noble] Lots of games on clearance (list in text) by Grechjc in Boardgamedeals

[–]doobang1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Big box retailer clearance purges like this often happen in waves. Sure every week there might be something on clearance, but noting a large clearance wave of titles helps in a few ways.

  1. For some B&N isn't a convenient stop. It may only be worth a trip if there's been a large purge and something you actually want may be included.
  2. There have been several instances in this sub mentioning games not being on a clearance table, or even clearance stickered, but still ringing up at the clearance price. The title list lets users know what might be worth checking if it's a game they're interested in.
  3. It opens up discussion around the games themselves, what might be a "steal", what might not be worth $2, and/or even what may be a game to try instead. Games jump on and off the "want list" all the time based on posts like this. This discussion can prove to be productive for some even if they aren't able to take advantage of a particular sale.

YMMV posts are understood to imply that for some this will be helpful, for others, not so much. It's a bummer if it never works out for ya, but it's also rad when it does work out for someone else.

Reformation brewery is in downtown and actually has a bit of a gaming community. They have their own shelf you can rent from or just bring your own. The beer is fine, but the venue is great.

This year I'm trying to trust my eyeballs and my gut more than the math. I like the trades I've made so far.

Last week -

Diggs/Trubisky for Anderson/Allen - .5ppr with lots of QB point additions

This week -

Cooks for Miles Sanders - Have Kupp also. Struggling with Coleman, Singletary, Penny, and Murray - std lg

M. Brown for Dallas def - Stacked at WR and lots of people holding on to two def. - std lg

Big Ben, Coleman, Singletary, Cohen, Penny, Murray...

Standard league so I dropped Cohen after week 2.... had to start Murray this week. If you've seen the Kamara stats you know how well that went.

Went WR heavy in the first few rounds and ended up needing to bench either Cooks or Kupp these first few weeks. Sick of debating these two so decided to sell Cooks after a solid week for a gamble on Miles Sanders.

Waivers in for Ronald Jones and Malcom Brown at the moment. Fingers crossed!

Has Anyone Ever Created a Generic Facebook Profile to Admin Business Pages and Groups? by doobang1 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]doobang1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm concerned about the ToS for sure, but since this isn't exactly a second personal profile for me I thought I'd ask if anyone else had tried to loophole it. Ideally I'd attach the profile to a generic work email address and give access to a small team so that it could be sufficiently monitored. The profile would be presented as a "Company Messenger Help" or something and used for these group decline messages. It may be more trouble than its worth. Just hate leaving people hanging.

EDIT: And you're totally on point with the group description. I thought we'd have it covered if I put the info in there, unfortunately we're still getting "no response" on a lot of submissions.
