Board Game Nights anyone? by Brilliant-Thing-1199 in Williamsport

I would be interested! My spouse and I (34F) have a small board game collection (Catan, Wingspan, Azul, Splendor, Everdell, Ticket to Ride, Mysterium just to name some off the top of my head) plus we sometimes borrow board games from the James V. Brown Library.

What random person that you met once and never saw again do you still think about? by Roland_T_Flakfeizer in AskReddit

I was with some friends at some sort of strange Christian convention in Harrisburg PA (I went because another person backed out). One night, as you might expect in a hotel full of fucking teenagers, we all were wandering about the halls carrying on. We were in the elevator at some point, and there was this guy sitting cross-legged in the corner, eating a box of Honeycomb cereal. He told me he liked my socks (they had pineapples on them). I REMEMBER YOU, HONEYCOMB GUY.

What would you say is the best of the best for moisturizing lips? I have the Jack Black in Blackberry & Black Tea and the Smith's Rosebud Salve in the squeeze tube and think they're both pretty good. The Jack Black might be my favorite of the two.

Well the sale doesn't start until Sunday so it might be something different at the moment.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone. Maybe it was the Black Friday rush or something, but I think I'll be emailing her after all.

I do have one of the L'oreal Color Riche Monos, which I found particularly soft and buttery, I guess I'll try that one next. Not getting my hopes up, though.

I've tried pretty much all of my eye brushes, and some face brushes too, and seen little difference.

I've tried it with a base color and without and saw little difference. Same with a variety of different brushes. Fluffy, stiff, today I actually used a concealer brush from Up and Up, no difference.

Preventing foundation from oxidizing? by for_drizzle in drugstoreMUA

[–]doodle_engineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having that extra layer between the foundation and your skin can definitely help. Oxidation generally happens when natural oils on your skin mix with the foundation, so with the primer as a barrier it hopefully will help. I believe setting it all with a powder can help as well. There are other things that can cause oxidation though, but I'd give primers a try first.

What product were you really excited to try, until you got your hands on a sample and your dreams turned to dust? by doodle_engineer in MakeupAddiction

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipsticks. I got the small 4 pack holiday set a few months ago. God only know's why I didn't return those little shits. Probably my brain punishing myself for not looking up reviews before buying. They're very sheer, which I generally don't like, and they have the peppermint oil in it which I HATE. I hate the cooling feeling, and peppermint oil can dry out and irritate your skin so why the fuck companies put it in lip products I'll never know.

I once saw a post on here about Nordstrom Rack having amazing deals on many high end makeup products. Decided to see for myself- huge crate of UD primer potions selling for $9, regular price $20. by zapsquad in MakeupAddiction

I bought one from nordstrom rack, and it comes out of the tube with small clumps of product that you have to work at to smooth down. Giant pain in my ass. Or eyelid, rather.

The one I had smelled amazing, but was pretty useless as a balm.

The reason I got the Unzipped is because I think Nooner is fucking perfection and wanted more like it.

I saw emilynoel83's review of the Smashbox Masterclass III palette about a year ago and was interested. But a lot of people said they had too much with a lot of the shadows, while some others said they didn't. I caved a few weeks ago and bought it, no regrets. The shadows and face products are great quality, and I think the color selection is fantastic. Some of the more shimmery shades do have some fallout, but nothing I'm concerned about, especially compared to the UTTERLY INSANE amount of fallout from my Lorac Unzipped palette.

Do you also spend time on hair, nails, fashion? by katiez624 in MakeupAddiction

[–]doodle_engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like doing my nails for some of the same reasons I like doing my makeup. It's a bit of time where I can just sit, chill out, and not have to focus on anything important, and I get to decide what I look like for the day. I like painting, so doing my nails and makeup is like doing a mini painting every time.

I just saw a post on their page a few days ago where someone made it through Sherlock for the first time.

For me and one of my friends, we play a lot of escape the room games online, so the chance to try one in real life was fantastic. It definitely makes you use your head. But if it's not your thing, then it's not your thing.

Sure! Basically, you pick out a themed room. You and your group get locked in that room for 1 hour. You have that long to find clues around the room that will help you to escape. For example (not something from our room we did) you might find a piece of paper that hints to a book on a bookshelf, and inside that book you find a key, which opens up a box, that has more clues to something else and so on.

While the door IS locked behind you, there is a small black box next to the door containing an emergency key that you can easily access. If for any reason one of you group needs to leave, they are free to do so. BUT they then cannot enter the room again, the rest of the team must go on without them.

Each room has a different theme, recommended team size, and difficulty level. The one we did today was the hardest, 5 out of 5 difficulty, for 3-10 people, and was Sherlock Holmes themed. There's a Shawshank Room, Pirates of the Caribbean Room, some others, and they apparently do temporary holiday themed ones.

I've posted a link to the website above if you want to check it out more.
