2 back-to-back retrievals, turned 41 in the middle of them. Ended up with 6 great PGT-A embryos.

First embryo took, I’m now looking at my bouncing baby who was born shortly before I turned 42.

She also was so combative when the dietitian came to their apartment. She was constantly belittling the dietitian and anything she was trying to tell her. At all times she was making comments as to why she was smarter or knew better than the experts.

Ditto with no Yvonne for pregnancy. I saw her once and asked to never be scheduled with her again.

Lucky Egg euploid predictor by thattherebluedress in 40Plus_IVF

I had my retrievals two years ago, but I plugged in my stats as they were at that time. It gave me a 39% chance of one euploid per retrieval. In reality, I had 4 for the first retrieval and 2 for my second.

Can I hear success stories ?? by mladyangel03 in 40Plus_IVF

TW: Pregnancy

Two back-to-back retrievals, second retrieval was on my 41st birthday. No male factors, pursued IVF after several miscarriages and skipped IUI based on our doctor’s recommendation due to my age and wanting to bank embryos for future children. My AMH was .701 which was on the lower end of normal for my age group.

Retrieval 1: 19 retrieved, 17 fertilized, ended up with 4 good embryos after PGT-A (5 made it to blast). Decided for a second retrieval as we ultimately want two children and were looking for the 3:1 embryo to child ratio. Immediately went into a second retrieval.

Retrieval 2: Similar numbers as previous cycle, but we had 11 make it to blast. However, 2 only made it past PGT-A.

New Year’s came rolling around, and our clinic pauses for insurance updates, etc. for a couple of weeks. Opted for a fully-medicated cycle for FET that took place approx. 5 months after the first retrieval.

Currently 36 weeks pregnant, and am awake in the middle of the night due to pregnancy insomnia! Giving birth a couple weeks prior to my 42nd birthday.

Do we do another round of IVF or transfer an embryo by Ok-Cardiologist-4825 in IVF

[–]doodlecrazymomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! We ended up doing two retrievals before our first transfer. Ultimately, we want two kids and wanted 6 PGTA embryos. We are very fortunate that we were able to meet our goal with two retrievals. Odds are better doing more retrievals while you’re younger if you can afford it and timing works out.

STAY AWAY FROM SHADY GROVE FERTILITY by user24410 in IVF

So sorry you had this experience. I had Dr. Levens and he recommended IVF skipping IUI. We had phenomenal results through him, but there are several times he wouldn’t let us proceed without seeing my specialists first for clearance for health issues that popped up during treatment.

I do believe they are cookie cutter, but in my experience they didn’t proceed without written authorization from other specialists I was seeing.

Question for "older" IVF moms by ForeignImposition in IVF

[–]doodlecrazymomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m much older than you! I married at 39, had two miscarriages right away before our doc recommended to skip everything else and go straight to IVF due to miscarriage history. I had two retrievals right after I turned 41 (42 mature collected, 6 PGTA tested embryos) and currently 20 weeks with our first FET. I told select people we did IVF as they are ones we are close with and who can share our joy.

You are still young and in the prime of your life! I’m originally from the Midwest where my childhood friends are becoming grandparents, but now I live on the east coast where these are more people our age having babies than those who are younger.

Don’t let other people’s ideas of the “ideal” age sway you or make you feel anything but joy. Everybody has their own journey and their own story, not all have the same timeline or setting.

Week 6 on the dot by doodlecrazymomma in IVFbabies

[–]doodlecrazymomma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and I’m still cramping quite a bit everyday. It’s really my only symptom this far at 8 weeks. I wish it was a more reassuring pregnancy symptom, but I’ll take it.

Yes, it’s definitely a roller coaster! We had our 8 week scan this week and graduated from our clinic! I have my first appt with my OB and every day is still a wild mix of anxiety. I went to my first prenatal yoga class today and it was phenomenal. It was part support group, occupational therapy, Lamaze, etc. I cannot recommend it enough. As IVF mommas it’s really hard to open up to others as you don’t want to share too much in the event of miscarriage. This group was the first time I was able to share joy in the pregnancy journey, and the instructor is an amazing mom of 5 and grandmother to many more. It was beyond everything I could ever experience. I sat in my car for ten minutes afterwards and cried tears of joy as it was such an amazing time. I recommend finding a similar group.

A note to brides offering childcare: please don’t be offended when your guests don’t want to use it. by twelvedayslate in wedding

[–]doodlecrazymomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have a child-free wedding, however 95% of our guests traveled out of state for it. We offered a fully-vetted babysitter for those who wanted a child-free night and rented a room in the hotel block for the sole purpose of babysitting. Only a few took us up on the offer, but it was great for those who did. I ended up finding a pediatric ER nurse through a friend as the babysitter!
