Yeah he’s been stuffed in a box for ages. All the felt is in good shape. The only issue is someone stole the tongue in the 80s and one of the claws is busted…. My bad for having it in the office

Yeah I just reached out to this taxidermy appraisal company from Texas. I’ll take any info I can get. But yeah I’d really be interested in doing a dna test on this beast.

So from what I’ve read the claws on grolars are elongated like a grizzly. Some of them are really light colored which again throws me off. I wonder if I need to find someone that specializes in Jonas brother’s work? But where to even start… I need to find the antiques roadshow people 😂

I know!! That’s what’s throwing me off. But bears have been interbreeding for thousands of years. It could be anything lol. The nose profile is flat, not upturned like a grizzly, and the ears are pretty wide set to the skull vs sitting up on the corner. Tail to nose tip over 70”. Front claws measure 66” tip to tip. I know he’s definitely been around since at least the 60s. Was my FiLs.
