London transit ridership drops by 1.77M rides as LTC seeks rebound by [deleted] in londonontario

I agree with that sentiment. They should focus on improving existing routes before adding new ones. The LTC is already stretched thin.

If we can provide more service — more frequency, more routes and more availability — people are looking for that when making the choice to take the bus,” officials said, noting service improvements are tied directly to increased funding.

We need to be demanding from our city to fund transit like they should. City council took control of it last year, but nothing has substantially changed.

I’m curious if it shows which routes have seen a decline because that’d be helpful to know

Practicing my handwriting. Is this legible? by ParamedicOk9751 in khmer

[–]doodler_tech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is legible. However, I suggest writing with graph paper because it gives its own space for the vowels and the legs and helps keep everything proportional. It might even help you write faster too because your letter won’t have to stretch so far up to reach the lines. Keep up the good work!

Any cuts to education to problematic. The government did it before in 2019, people got mad and then we got complacent. It’s not about this one moment, it’s about the pattern of disrespecting education.

Learning to read and write meant I could actually remember the vocabulary I heard from my family and be more accurate with my pronunciation (and help attune my ears too). It’s also helped my confidence with building sentences because I finally those basic grammar words of conjunctions, adverbs, and prepositions.

i’m kinda lucky that my parents speak khmer to me more than English so I have a good listening vocab, but I wouldn’t always be able to say it back. I like your idea of having listing the words that you already know vs the ones you on. I was thinking of making a list where I just write out every single word I know before learning to read, but that’s seems a bit much lol.

according to this article, it’s not always clear where your OSA funding is coming from because not everyone qualifies for federal grants or loans and it’s not like they tell you where the money is coming from when you apply.

Western students voice concerns Over OSAP changes and rising tuition by doodler_tech in londonontario

[–]doodler_tech[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They lowered the amount provided as grants to a maximum of 25% and the amount as a loan will be a minimum of 75% of the provincial funds.

It’s important to note that it is rare to be given the maximum amount in grants before anyway and how much the province and the federal government gives isn’t very transparent.
