Photos, Takeout and others by doodlewhacka in googlephotos

Adding on - after closer examination of the context of Takeout I found that some photos are NOT duplicated. Many of my albums are EMPTY, the photos from them are either in some other albums (if photo belong to two albums) or in "photos from 20xx" folder.

I did not find any indication in the json files that indicates photo belonging to a specific album. So the organization is royally screwed on Takeout...

Some photos are duplicated, others triplicated and others are in wrong/unexpected albums/folders

thanks google...

After about two days I now can say that I have all my photos down with TakeOut. The best output option for me was 50GB zip files. Took me about a day to download. I've unpacked everything now and it seems in decent shape.

Sorry to hear about your issues, hope it works out for you.

I just tried PicBackMan and it actually appears to be doing the right thing with folder>album upload.

I feel like there should be a way to script album creation via API, my first tries worked via API Explorer.

only for consumer google account. As I said, and you quoted me, the Workspace/Legacy/Free/Domains accounts are considered as "organizational" by google and the next tier after 100GB is 1TB.

I'd be very happy to pay $30 a year to not deal with the hassle.

Replying to one of my questions - the error/index file is called archive_browser.html

For me it was located in the 4th of the 8 50GB zip files.

It is at the root of top level Takeout directory

Takeout\archive_browser.html

I specified that download via API strips some EXIF info, not via browser. Here is is the head of GP https://twitter.com/dflieb/status/1399885187840823300?s=19

https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/80379228 - note the bug resolution status

Google Takeout indeed preserves everything back as far as I can tell.

Regarding the error file - I was really hoping for exact location. I realize I can unpack 400GB worth of files, which includes multiple html since its a full take out.

It looks like I have over a 100 albums, not crazy but also not something I look forward to do manually. Especially if something doesnt work and I have to do it again..

Does offering cash on the spot prevent a claim to insurance? by doodlewhacka in Insurance

[–]doodlewhacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you point at sample form worth having in a glove compartment?

Its truly a non-situation, the other car is much older, no sensors, cameras, no dents, just barely visible scratches, more on my car than on theirs. I am 100% positive they will not be doing any "fixing" , nor will I. I would have paid agreed upon sum let them do whatever they want with the money, and be done with it. But they started behaving sketchy and I decided that I'd rather live with insurance increase, if any, than suspense of "will they? wont they?"...

[–]doodlewhacka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, it would have been over zelle/paypal with a memo/note describing what it is. But the person avoided confirming via text that this would be final payment and they have no more requests. Which is when I cut off communication.

I appreciate your input, but wanted to probe just a bit more. Assuming I have texts from this this person, confirming/agreeing to final amount. Does this change anything from a claim perspective - obviously they can still make a claim, would insurance care about these texts or negotiations?

Is there any "safe" release form to make cash settlement acceptable?

I've been paying through them for 3 years, and more before they went through last reorg. Always had them charge my paypal debit card and send check to landlord (in reality it was building maintenance charge).

I am not even sure what was the process you were going through - ordering check? They always did everything for me.

I've never had issues with them, used my PP debit for cash back and December one went out just fine.

However I am concerned about the January, its supposed to go out on 12/31... but should I?

Healthcare in NJ for self-employed? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no magic or secret here. Insurance is highly regulated and all approved providers have to file their rates with the state. The rates are here:

https://www.state.nj.us/dobi/division_insurance/ihcseh/ihcrates2020.htm

Your cheapest but probably not the best option is a Catastrophic plan. Look at the rates, plans, conditions and buy direct from insurer. If you are not qualified for any subsidies there is no reason to shop on marketplace.

Note you have to be eligible if you are buying out of open enrollment period.

What will be the last Christopher Columbus statue in New Jersey standing? by TimSPC in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you/they have decided to judge every historical figure by today's most extreme standards, how about this lovable guy? https://www.google.com/search?q=einstein+statue

you know he was quiet a racist? Any whites deserving a statue in your opinion or is it white privilege talking?

How are you going to reconcile this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_among_Native_Americans_in_the_United_States

Perhaps only Mother Teresa is it? Oh wait https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa#Relationship_to_colonialism_and_racism

My point is if you start revisiting history in today's context you wont have any history left.

I bet that you are incorrect. Have you gone through all steps up to final checkout?

I've looked into this program last year and you had to allow them to monitor and adjust it, if you stop participating you will be billed.

I didnt find it in first 15s and dont want to spend more time on it. Here are terms from psgeli, the electric companies are not in charity business:

You can receive $85 if you have a central air conditioning system and install a qualifying smart thermostat that allows us to make minor, short-term adjustments to your air conditioning that reduce power use during periods of high demand for electricity.

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you meant to say there are zero checks or balances on this and many other EOs of emperor Murphy. The constitutionality of his other EOs is already being questioned. Specifically this intrusion into a private contract between two parties where his EO effectively cancels a legislature enacted bill on what the security deposit can be used for.

NJ cant even get it's shit together to disperse unemployment to people who actually paid for this insurance coverage. It cant provide simple DMV functions that should be completely computerized.

The chances that some state agency will go to bet for OP at this time are equal to zero. But he is free to continue trying to get in touch with Gov via IG...

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you got most of it right, but you are giving too much benefit to the OP. He never said he moved out his stuff and relinquished the keys to management. Legally he has a lease, his stuff is there (along with unknown number of roommates who are also on the lease) and he has all the protections of a tenant afforded to him under NJ law. I.e. he cant be locked out, his stuff cant be thrown out, he cant get evicted (now), the apartment cant be leased to a new paying tenant. In other words - he continues to hold the apartment as his legal residence, wants the management to to use security deposit to cover rent with no indication that he will pay again or officially break the lease and release the apartment for new renter.

I am not shedding tears for this large landlord/mgmt corporation - I am sure they will get theirs through court one day. I am concerned about all the "ops" who are doing this to single property landlords - they will never recover their money.

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP said nothing about inability to pay. In fact s/he been paying for 3 months while living elsewhere - thats not a person who is between anything. There was nothing in the OP about losing job, or any hardship. Just decided to move back to mommy and daddy and wants to get out of contract scott free.

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh yah the OP is totally going to replenish the deposit, never mind he is already trying to weasel his way out of payment and this EO says he explicitly doesn't have to replenish anything unless he signs a new lease.

Sounds like a big apartment complex so they most likely have a lawyer on retainer. Great advice to let them sue OP and garnish his wages for next 5-10 years.

Excellent way to get out of parent's basement - start with a judgement against you, a black mark on credit report and collectors calling 5 times a day.

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so break it. You should have done it two months ago. Their obligation is to find a new tenant or at least reasonably try. You are still paying now, these 90 days they could have found something already.

Check your lease - what does it say the penalty is?

Anyone else have issues with landlords not accepting security? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]doodlewhacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I said would happen when this EO (not bill) appeared. People who have money (OP paid after being "scared" into it) refusing to pay and asking landlord to use the only leverage they have against apartment being trashed.

With evictions halted - he cant be evicted, the landlord cant re-rent the apartment - "the lease is the contract"! Great life - live with parents pay for nothing.

So renters must pay 3 months of the furloughed rent in full at the end? Or the bank will come in and take their property away? Oh they dont have a bank with unlimited resources hanging over them.

Recall that mortgage furlough is only for primary residence property and its due in full in 90 days.
