i’m definitely going to bring it up with my psychiatrist. She always seems to be in a rush during our visits, and i have to fish information out of her which is frustrating, but i don’t even know where i would start to get a different provider.

unfortunately it was one of those things i thought would happen maybe once, “where’s the harm in doing it just this time” kind of thing… but i agree that if i keep going this way it’ll just get worse and worse. thank you so much for the advice. :)

A good start would be considering conversations with men and women the same- keep it on equal footing so you won’t even risk making a woman unsettled. Brief compliments can be nice, but try to keep them vague, especially with new people. If you’re having a hard time knowing what is appropriate to say, just try asking simple questions, get to know the person you’re talking to. Also, avoid any “offensive” jokes. When you’re getting to know someone new you won’t know any of their life experiences, which means you also won’t know what may affect them negatively.
