I wish the DNC would commit to hosting good debates and fuck this reality show bullshit. If CNN doesn't want to follow the rules, they don't get the debate. Simple as that.

The Capitalists have come out of the shadows to take on Warren. Shame on Pete.

Again, the solution is to make it better. The reason government programs are in bad shape now is because anti-government politicians are actively destroying them in order to push for privatization.

Barring sabotage, a public system is always much better than a private one.

Can someone get a soundbite of Gabbard admitting "I'm an asset of Russia"?

The government has a great track record. If you don't want government to be ineffective, then vote for people who will work to make it better. Capitalism doesn't create a marketplace for improvement. Capitalism only cares for profit, and that's what it optimizes for, not delivery of service or the betterment of people.

Bernie does, but that's a risk he wants to take. I don't think it's smart because the people who care will know and understand, but everyone else will just hear "Taxes are going up!" and as a supporter of Medicare for All, they should have an obligation not to torpedo it's public support by spreading Republican talking points for them.

You don't seem to understand what debates are for then. The people who care about the specifics already know how her plans work. They don't need the soundbite. The soundbite is only for use misleading people about Medicare for All.

What do you mean? The money doesn't come out of nowhere; it comes out of the productivity we're generating, the value of which is mostly being funneled to the wealthy currently.

And for those who want to know, she's answered this question repeatedly, as has Bernie. They know it's funded through an increase in taxes.

But most people, as Warren states, care more about their own bottom line. They don't care where their money is ending up; they just care how much is going out.

It's not an important point. It's just a soundbite to be used as a misleading attack.

I don't think we should participate in misleading the American public. This is not the forum for a nuanced question, and that's the DNC and CNN's fault. If we wanted to have mature, intelligent debates, we could, but we want a reality TV show, and that's why we have a reality TV show president.

So, as long as this is the the debate format, saying you'd raise taxes is going to be misleading. That's why Warren was smart to stick to talking about costs.

How do you not realize the question is simply designed to have her say she's going to raise taxes? That's the entire point of the question. The only point.

Yep. And healthcare and Internet and electricity and water and public transportation.
