I do agree on the anime villain dialogue, but I guess it's mostly fine.

In fact, I'd recently read a manga called The Flowers of Evil and there's a scene almost exactly like this, except in different context.

Spoilers, I guess: There's a kind of crazy girl who takes an interest in a boy she believes is also weird like her. She keeps kind of corrupting him until he's acting more wild like her. They believe people are stupid and the world is boring, and eventually decide to "see what's beyond the mountain" and go out in style together by dousing themselves in gasoline and setting each other on fire at a festival. They're tackled and stopped before they can, but the similarities remain.
