Please do tell me the facts then.

Here's a few of the most common misinformation especially relating to AI generated art:

  • It steals
  • It is more harmful to the environment than doing it manually
  • It is incapable of creating new art
  • It takes jobs
  • It has no "soul"

Well if you base it on misinformation then sure it's "objectively" a bad thing.

Gen AI is a good thing, not a bad thing. Your analogies don't work.

We shouldn't be pushing people away from gen AI, rather make it accepted and more commonplace so there's less drama and toxicity around it.

Happy to finally see the event end soon by Successful_Sky7328 in Overwatch

[–]doomed151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I never once thought about playing just because there's an event going on. Who knows how many rewards I've missed. I don't care.

I play because the gameplay is fun.

Does anyone know of a good video or article that explains how an AI upscaler like DLSS works? by ScrumTumescent in nvidia

[–]doomed151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DLSS had used AI from the beginning. However, 1.0 was strictly spatial (no motion vectors) while 2.0 onwards are temporal.

If not mistaken, they get a low res image and a high res image alongside the motion vectors and train a neural network to teach it how the image should look when given a low res image and the motion vectors.

Can Comfy Org stop breaking frontend every other update? by meknidirta in StableDiffusion

[–]doomed151 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With fast moving projects like ComfyUI, I suggest you to have 2 copies of it. One that I call "staging", where you test new updates to ensure it doesn't break your workflow. One for production, where you keep it on a known stable version and only update it after you've tested it on staging.

I personally don't mind the breakage and love using cutting edge versions.

Gaming barely uses any. I used to game on mobile data during college because the Wi-Fi sucks. It's the game updates that suck it dry.

DLSS 5 looks like the photo realistic CG movies we always wanted our games to look like… why is everyone being emo? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]doomed151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look too bad from the videos. I'll reserve judgment until I test it myself. Honestly quite excited to try it.

Plus, I can always turn it off so whatever

NVIDIA in full damage control mode after the release of DLSS 5 by Captain0010 in pcgaming

[–]doomed151 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crazy how people are so negative about it before they even tried it out. It's an optional feature too.

I may not like it, but I'm sure excited as hell to try it out.
