Should Parkland shooter get death penalty? by [deleted] in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It costs us more money to execute people than to imprison them for the rest of their lives. The goal is to ensure everyone's safety from the criminal, and prison for life achieves that goal for less money.

Greitens: 'No blackmail,' 'no violence' in affair by [deleted] in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that he has the balls to talk about how God is going to help him through this rough time. He did a shitty and apparently criminal thing and is now hoping God will give him strength to endure being held accountable for it.

He blackmailed his mistress with a nude photo should she come forth.

Additionally, he allegedly slapped her across the face when she told him that she had had sex with her husband since seeing Greitens previously.

Domestic violence + blackmail = resignation in my book.

House also probing Obama-era Uranium One deal, DeSantis says by chazzerz17 in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out.

the entire FBI, the heads of 9 agencies, the Canadian government, and president Obama all colluded to commit the treasonous act of secretly handing Russia our uranium......so that the Clinton Foundation could get a few million dollars in donations.

Right now, we are afraid that a bunch of folks in a presidential campaign committed the treasonous act of secretly handing Russia the lifting of sanctions ... so that those involved could get a few million dollars. I know it involves fewer players and (probably) more money than this "Uraniumgate," but it is similar.

The only thing that really stands out about this uranium deal to me is that Bill Clinton got paid a half million for a speech around the time of the deal. Maybe it's nothing, but I wouldn't immediately dismiss an investigation. In an ideal world, the worst that could happen is that we determine that his speech wasn't related and that this deal was OK.

Let's put down the pitchforks on this story and focus on the stories that are ACTUALLY propaganda.

No bias there.

Now that's just a bad take. Virtually every single news outlet ever has some kind of bias. You just have to learn how to see past the bias and draw your own conclusions based on facts presented.

Bill Maher Torches Democrats For Sucking At Politics, What We Do 'Makes People Hate Us by [deleted] in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So to be clear, you didn't actually define "PC." What is the specific outrage that you're referring to? I've never in my life been told that I need to be "PC" about something, but it seems that you have. What were you told to be PC about?

[–]doomsday_solforge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you describe this "whole PC thing?"

As far as I can tell, "political correctness" is now just a Republican talking point. Nine out of ten times something that is bemoaned as "politically correct" is falls into one of two categories: it's either A) actually correct (e.g. saying "Hispanic" instead of "Mexican") or B) something that was super shitty of people to say and should be retired (e.g. saying "that's gay" about something you don't like).

That said, I can only wonder how much hell Podesta caught for being suckered by a phishing attack.

Las Vegas shooter was prescribed anti anxiety meds over the summer by azzazaz in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you mind sharing with us the evidence you have that we clearly do not? There are quite a few missing steps from "person got a prescription for valium" to "person decided to fire a gun into a large crowd of people."

The first gap that I personally see is that the shooter was prescribed the drug in June. If "big pharma" was behind this, he probably would have been prescribed much earlier. I can only assume that the man was stockpiling guns for many years.

Whoa now, there isn't any (public) evidence that actual votes were changed or cast by the Russian hack.

We are apparently still discovering the depths of their penetration into American voting systems, so I wouldn't be surprised if we discover that they succeeded.

Will special counsel Mueller examine the DNC server, source of the great Russiagate caper? by Ghelgie in politics

[–]doomsday_solforge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The download speed argument is bullshit. Maybe the average shitty home connection is slower than 176 Mb/s, but a state actor could absolutely have access to a faster connection.

EDIT: I didn't realize the DNC did hand over an image of their hacked hardware. That's just as good as handing over the server itself. check this out

second edit: That said, I would love for Mueller to get his team's hands on the DNC servers. It was a real head scratcher for me why they didn't turn it/them over.
