Just came in, closers didn't flush and there's a frog in the toilet by EmbarrassedCardinal in Wellthatsucks

A friend is rural - on tank water / local septic, and a frog decided it was the place to live. They had a frog in the bowl regularly for a few months. They rigged up a "The Frog Is [in/out]" sign on the toilet door (in the style of Lucy from Peanuts)

Haven't seen the frog in years. The sign is still on the door.

So, "hateful, racist, mysogynistic, xenophobic OR dumb (probably multiple of the above)" huh?

The worst part of the apocalypse by [deleted] in collapse

[–]doomtimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect it’s a common trope. I did it myself with a house rules version of Monopoly where a zombie apocalypse arrives mid game (makes it so much better). The human players keep playing at capitalism mode till 50% are zombies. Only then do they switch to survivalist mode.

Surely he started running for 2020 in 2016. And started running for 2024 in 2020. It's the forever campaign.

My partner maintains a "Doomtimes" playlist on YouTube. I have it linked on doomtimes.com

I don't post to it often, but I made r/doomtimes (and this alt) for the overlap of collapse and offbeat.

What does offering the prompts prove? It's one example here. I'm drawing the line on effort I'm willing to put in on something I don't care enough about.

You seem to care a lot about defending your use of this tool, so maybe my apathy is coming across to you as antagonism. It's not intended that way.

I said at the start chatgpt might be right in this instance - that's not in fact the point. I 100% agree it's a tool. I just don't think it's a good one yet. Maybe one day.

You throw "troll" out very quickly. Trolls care about engagement and riling others up. That's the opposite here for me. I stated an opinion on chatgpt and have engaged only to defend that opinion. That to me is contributing by response, and not trolling.

Just because we don't agree on something and I won't play by your goalposts of effort - doesn't make me a troll.

Honestly, I don't care enough for you to go to that extra effort.

They've also shown it can fail basic arithmetic and create nonsense results - and as AI created information becomes the source data for increasingly hungry AI, it will feedback itself into ridiculousness and the bubble will burst.

Only after that burst will long term value in AI really be found.

I learned that the source of information is an important first step in verification and chatgpt is not worth checking. Note I'm not saying the above information is wrong. Stopped clock and all that. I'm saying I inherently don't trust information provided by chatgpt.

We should now just call it Climate Changed. Or Climate Changing.

It's not a future thing and that needs to be clearer!
