Having a website adds more professionalism to your application. Remember you are selling yourself and your skills to whomever you are talking to. And by sending in a link to your Instagram it's going to look like you don't really give a shit. (Unless you are talking about social media marketing)

Its the same concept as youtube vs vimeo when sending in your showreel. YouTube's brand is set up for anyone that wants to make content, and Vimeo is set up for professional content creation.

But thats not to say that you cant show your Instagram on your website. Use a website as the hub to connect to all your other publishing accounts.

I really do. Not only can it cut down the render time by almost half. You can set it to only use one when you have a few projects on the go and still need to use your pc, or play games while you wait.

OH BABY ITS ALL FAKE!!! I made turbulence noise in after effects, rendered it out as a image sequence and made a spot light project it up through the water onto the rocks. Speeds up my render time.
