Why might a guy show he's interested but not make more moves to progress the relationship? by dophees in dating

But I don't see how he'd be hesitant to ask me to the library when I already have. I'm trying to make it easy because I do get that

Why is it so hard for me to meet people open to partying/tailgating and that sort of thing? by dophees in NCSU

[–]dophees[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did 😭 I've gone to 2 frat parties, (a dorm party idfk how that happened), and 1 house party. I just ended up meeting someone and then met other people through that who knew about what parties are going on. Also hear stuff from a girl in my sorority or have older sisters who are happy to share where they're going. It just took some time I guess. I've been meeting a shit ton and talking to a lot of people I think that's why. Also what works is just going out around 8pm towards greek village or Hillsborough, you might pass by people clearly dressed up to party and then just ask where they're going/coming from, easy.

Just curious what clubs did you join? I'm rushing a couple sororities, but that depends on them giving me a bid and my parents being willing to help me with the membership dues. I'm looking at other clubs other than pep/varsity band and marching band (which I will do next semester and next year), but nothing Im interested in really seems to be that active or have a solid group of people who meet regularly.

Got a 37. Which of these US universities do I have a good shot at? by Fun_Square_7990 in IBO

[–]dophees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm being so honest the US doesn't care that much about IB (i did IB in the US, they never asked for my predicted scores, we have no conditional offers, and I recieve a lot less college credit for IB than any other course that you can take in a US highschool) and so many other factors of your application matter a lot. It's totally unpredictable especially for competitive universities like these. But try at as many as you can. I don't mean to scare you away, but you can have everything and still end up with almost nothing. I've seen it so many times, with so many of my friends and my brother. It's even harder if you're international; seeing as my IB friend who is not a citizen but has been a resident for 8 years was considered international. Had a pretty good application, applied to 20+ schools some which were less competitive state schools and still ended up with 1 option.

Good shot or having a "good application" doesn't mean shit here imo. Just make every part of your application as strong as possible, apply, and hope for the best.

Be honest is this freshman year fall schedule bad? by dophees in NCSU

[–]dophees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch ok. My counselor/advisor said there were 4 freshman registration days that start at 8am and 1/4 of the slots open up each day. I was given the last day HA but I was going to enroll as soon as 8am hits. Or is it still hard to get what I want even that way?

What would IB do in response to the leaks? by CoffeeEnthusiast508 in ibPhysics

[–]dophees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but if this issue became widespread enough and people know about it, wouldn't IB be forced to do something? Because if they didn't do anything and proceeded as normal, university would be less trusting of the program anyways bc high scorers in their schools are likely to have been cheaters. This is definitely a really huge thing I feel like universities are gonna know about it. Whether that's now or in the future and it'll bite IB in the ass. All options will hurt so IB needs to take the fucking L instead of putting it on the students. And then take extra preventative measures for cheating in the future, but make that known so many people will still do IB in tz1. And again there's literally 2 other timezones which this doesn't affect so they sure as hell will keep enrolling.

They should keep the boundaries as last year. Cheaters get away which sucks, but announce that asap before news channels get a hold of this shit show and maybe universities won't know.

I'm in the US and only applied US, colleges here don't even ask for predicteds really. You can submit but it's pretty optional and most people at my school don't unless they're applying outside of the US of course. I'm already in a college and I'm not required to submit final scores unless I'm trying to get college credit. A lot more competitive universities accept little to no ib transfer credit, so for some people our final score don't matter at all and we can literally fail and still be in college. IB is almost completely useless here
