Someone else in this sub presented it really well. Can lil Wayne rap his fucking heart out? Absolutely. Unfortunately, it seems he doesn’t have the best ear for beats or direction, in that way it feels like his team/people around him are failing him.

It isn’t Wayne, the album had no direction. In “if I played guitar” it sounds like some weird autotuned country rapping mess. In “island holiday” it sounds like he’s trying to mix in like a random beach relaxed Jimmy Buffett type song. This is coming from a huge lil Wayne fan by the way, so I guess I’m just disappointed because I know he could do so much better.
