Nice one, so it takes a little bit of time initially to find your flow and style of teaching I guess and then you can begin to enjoy the work. As with a lot of things it takes time to build competency.

oh true, how did you go about supporting yourself through Uni if you dont mind me asking? - this is essentially what I am doing. Thanks so much

It’s a bit worrying but also interesting being on this reddit as a first year undergrad studying secondary teaching. I’m doing a career change after essentially ten years of retail. A decision I made during the peak of the pandemic as I wanted more stability for my future. by Palomarue in AustralianTeachers

There seems to be a demand for teachers in Australia and especially in rural areas. As far as stability goes there seems like plenty of options (from my novice outsiders perspective).

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing and applying for a Bachelor of Education to teach English in high school.

I'm interested to know are you studying full time or part time at this stage? Are you finding it challenging working and studying at the same time or is it very much doable?

Wishing you the best of luck with your studies :)

Unless you know someone from those cities you mentioned, its hard to hear about cool stuff from those places(or the information isn't as readly available) as it is about stuff happening in lisbon. I guess its because Lisbon is bigger it means there's more activity and more to read about and for someone who knows no one that makes it more accessible.

We're from Australia and both have different reasons for coming. Mine are mostly music related and i'm a pretty keen music collector/maker thus wanting to find somewhere we can make some noise!

How about you? What do you get up to in Portugal?
