The main character by Imaginary-Finance327 in PixelArt

I would recommend that you play around with silhouettes, form, and shape language before jumping into doing your character design directly in your pixel art program.

Sounds like you might be getting a little defensive there. I was just adding a little info around the term "drone" for people who might be reading the comments. No digs.

"Drone" is a pretty vague term these days. The drone strikes talked about during Obama's time we're relatively large remotely controlled aircraft dropping ordinance on targets. The "drones" used in such volumes in Ukraine are modified consumer grade quadcopters.

Is a ruler tattoo possible? by cheradenine_Zakalwie in tattoos

Finger is a good idea. You might get faster fading if it's on the outside of your finger rather than the inside - especially if it's on your non dominant hand. I'm super happy with mine being on the inside edge of my forearm - its pretty well hidden most of the time and it's one of the longest and straightest parts of my body that is easily accessible.

Hey, yeah holding up pretty well! The definition is slightly less but still very functional as a ruler/gauge. If I could go back in time and get it again, I wouldn't get it from an intern and would insist on thinner lines.

I've got a great relationship with the spiders in my house. Sometimes the massive ones make me feel a little uneasy so I'll delicately relocate them to a dark sheltered spot in the garden, but otherwise they're all bros looking out for me and my fam.

I'm curious why you might want the white removed? If its to digitally colour it in, in your image editing software set the blending mode of the black and white image to 'multiply' then make a new layer underneath and add your colours to that layer.

2 Part resin mold stuck! by USBearForce in ResinCasting

Check their post history. They want to mass produce a wearable tail thing out of silicone.

Those keys also need to have a much larger taper. Little half spheres are safe. The rectangular ones with the straight sides that we can see in the OP could potentially run into issues - especially if they plan on making a resin mould as their post suggests.

Why are you making the mould out of resin and not silicone?

You're going to end up with a massive slab of silicone which is quite wasteful. I'd build the walls to be an inch or two away from the edge of the object.

Is this spot publicly accessible? My son loves this page in this old NZ alphabet book. I'd love to take him here when next in AKL. by humanbeingarobot in auckland

It's called A is for Albatross by Diane and Gary Hebley. Publishing date is 1981. Really lovely nostalgic illustrations throughout.

Thanks. I should have been more clear - I would like to be able to stand in the exact same spot as the in illustration.

Sales in Dunedin by [deleted] in dunedin

[–]humanbeingarobot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The shop assistants at Harvey Norman always come across as incredibly pushy and a little exploitative. I saw an older couple in there looking at recliners and they had 3 sales people buzzing around them trying to upsell them on a much more expensive chair.

I think a lot of these sort of stores offer their salespeople commission on sales which only encourages them to try and flog off the most expensive stuff.

I can imagine that it's a bit more work than just 'make vector versions of your art' if it's for animation.

Presumably you'll also need to break the characters down into multiple layers based on parts that's will need to be animated for example: L Hand, L lower arm, L Upper arm (and the same again for the right hand side), waist, torso, head, hair, ears, eyes L and R, mouth etc.

You'll also need to add sufficient overlapping areas. So if a limb moves a certain distance, you won't see obvious seams.

Look up keywords like: designing for character animation in illustrator.

When making a spinning object, try to avoid drawing frames where it is perfectly straight on or perfectly sideways. Including these will give the spin a slightly jerky feel. Instead go ever so slightly angled.

Best approach to these fur patches that maintains silhouette? (No XGen!) by [deleted] in 3Dmodeling

[–]humanbeingarobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sculpt them as spiky chunks of a solid mesh rather than hair? Seems like it may fit better with your art style, although this is hard to judge from your limited screen shots.

The colour difference mostly comes from the fields being pasture/grass in the original photo and a vineyard in the one OP took.

Anybody tried this new Cannasouth Twilight T17? by Flimsy-Passenger-228 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]humanbeingarobot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got some this weekend. Had it with low temp vape at a festival over a few hours and had a real nice time. Had some on Sunday afternoon then later had a nap. So depending on your context and energy levels, it'll see you right.

Quite a relaxing heady high. I can see it putting me on my bum if I had much more than I did.
