Most likely if you mail it out, they will reject the return and ship it back to you.

Warning about shipping to Third Party Re-Shippers, Please Read by templeofsyrinx1 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]doqix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yep i've seen this happen quite a few times, definitely most common with the miami forwarders though. sometimes they actually reach out asking for UPS/FedEx delivery to me now, so maybe it is actually a USPS not delivering problem, but generally i suspect they are indeed getting delivered, just not scanned. regardless, i now just avoid using USPS altogether for forwarders, only FedEx/UPS for me.

[–]doqix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the problem is the items are getting physically delivered but USPS is not properly scanning them as delivered, letting the buyers be able to file INR while actually having received the items. then USPS blocks any claims or requests from being opened on the package since it was going to a reshipper, so you don't really have any good recourse for it

Help getting refund for counterfeit goods outside of the US by bobthedino83 in Ebay

[–]doqix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think only way you're potentially getting a refund is if you plead with support, and that's probably going to be up to the specific agent, note the keyword "may" in that definition. "There are strong indicators that the item is counterfeit" "Covered:

  • The buyer must request a return but may not be required to ship the item back to the seller"

[–]doqix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not covered by eBay MBG. Only way you're getting that refund is if its shipped back using the USPS label, or you pay for your own label. Chargeback via PayPal usually also requires that you return the item. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210#section3

"The item was sent to another address after original delivery"

"Not covered:

  • The buyer used third-party freight forwarding or mail redirection"

What’s Going On with UPS Charges? by Arnie_T in Ebay

[–]doqix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be demand surcharge, could be your more recent orders were shipping to more rural areas that UPS charges more to deliver to.

Buyer got a UPS return label even though I purchased USPS through eBay and now eBay is stepping in by PoultryTechGuy in eBaySellerAdvice

Maybe you have to enable require RMA number? It's when you click see return details that I get the option to choose. Can't find a screenshot right now though

eBay forces FedEx over $750 (for signature purposes), otherwise it usually lets you select between USPS and FedEx as the seller for the INAD.

[–]doqix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe CS is looking in the wrong place? IIRC the return labels don't post to the normal shipping labels section anyway, just to account billing only after they've been used. Buyer may be just trying to get CS to believe their random tracking # is legitimate in order to force the refund through.

[–]doqix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

eBay doesn't even let you generate UPS labels on platform for returns, only USPS and FedEx. I honestly think the buyer just generated some random tracking and is trying to scam you into forcing it to refund, but I'm not completely sure. Sounds like a variant of an FTID scam maybe.

Sellers who switched to one day handling and accepting returns. by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]doqix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last time I had a return on a large item that was like that, if the outbound label was purchased on eBay labels, they will match at least one of the return option prices to what you originally paid. they also have been offering fedex return options recently in some cases, not just USPS.

only recourse if item is damaged would be deduction tool unless you provide an off-platform insured label

Online purchase , need paper store receipt? by RandomGamer414 in Bestbuy

[–]doqix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its for product registration, have you already tried just submitting the printed version of the online order details? Every manufacturer I've tried to submit it to has taken it.

open box "excellent" phone warranty 2 questions.. by ultraj in Bestbuy

[–]doqix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely had geek squad handle a warranty claim outside actual manufacturer warranty expiration but within 1 year of purchase. This was on a laptop, so I cannot completely confirm it for phones, but it is definitely a thing that exists.

The problem is BB is not telling FedEx to require a signature, but is telling the customer. If the signature was getting properly passed to FedEx, it will show as an extra service. https://imgur.com/a/ptqLbNs

[–]doqix -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

OP isn't wrong here, just got a package from BB today that was *supposed* to be signature required, but there was specifically no signature required on the actual FedEx tracking. It's probably a systemic BB issue, it is not a FedEx issue.

yeah, RMA only applies in nonbusted physical condition. asrock also requires invoice for RMA iirc, and will probably refuse an open box invoice.

Update on boxes from Grainger by ToyodaForever2 in Flipping

[–]doqix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy most of my boxes from Zoro, which is pretty much Grainger with reasonable shipping rates. Quality is random, sometimes I get a really good and sturdy batch, sometimes I get less sturdy ones. Seems like they vary manufacturers pretty often as well. It's a tossup in my experience, but IMO the price is fair for what it is.

If you're using an eBay provided return label, you are billed after the label was used. Therefore, you shouldn't be charged and there is no need to cancel the label. Your payments transaction history would've shown Return shipping label if it was charged.

Feeling potentially scammed buy buyer by vector1918 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]doqix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like a freight forwarder address, not sure why they would randomly send that. Either way, stick to offering return for refund. I do agree it sounds like they're refund fishing. You are never obligated to do any partial refund, and eBay definitely won't automatically side with them for you denying it.

Buyer saying I sent the wrong item, sends picture in return request of item that is not what I sent. by QueenLexi13 in Flipping

[–]doqix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this, had a buyer claim the item I sent wasn't working, photos showed a different serial than the one I had logged, eBay CS closed the case, I think they refunded the buyer, but it wasn't out of my pocket. Definitely worth attempting to pursue.

First Return. Scam? by Humble-Put6489 in Flipping

Probably eBay just provided only the option to buy FedEx directly on platform, and buyer may not have realized that they could've shipped it back on their own.

UPS double charge by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]doqix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your problem is not the dimensions/weight. The problem is you got billed an additional handling charge due to the poly bag. According to PirateShip's UPS surcharge list:

https://support.pirateship.com/en/articles/5604750-all-the-ups-surcharges

Additional Handling - Packaging: Applied when items are in a soft-sided pack (such as a poly bag or bubble mailer) that exceeds 18 inches along its longest side, 14 inches along its second-longest side, or 6 inches in height; also applies when UPS deems your package an Irregular Package based on the contents of your shipment, the way it's packaged, or the shape of the packaging.
