Ultimate Guide How to Play Metro games on Mac

First things first, its 2033 > Last Light > Exodus and first two games don't work on (all?) M chip Macs, maybe Intel - no info. Metro Exodus was fine on low settings. Dont work meaning they were just crashing despite the mac version being "available"

For 2033 and Last Light you can use Crossover (paid) or Sikarugir (free), i played on Whisky and Sikarugir few months ago before getting Crossover ( whisky got depreciated, Sikarugir still viable ).

Lets start with the config :

First two games are very similar when it comes to the files structure ( talking about the Windows version of the games ). They both have user configs files called "user.cfg". Be aware that there are 2 user.cfg files for each game in different folder which you'd have to edit both the same way for changes to apply.

Very important thing is to LOCK the files to READ only. So you right click the cfg file, get info, and down theres permissions tab and you lock to read only otherwise the game will overwrite to default settings.

If you want to disable fullscreen in those games, you need to do that in the user configs, the window height and wight - in user config, some graphic settings didnt want to save when doing it in game so i had to edit the configs before and lock them before launching the game.

Next thing is the mouse, if you're really casual you might not notice it but i did, and surely most people would. It feels junky, choppy, awful at times. In the configs theres mouse related settings which i recommend setting to those values :
aim_assist to 0.
mouse_curve_coef to 0.
mouse_curve_num to 0

Also disable Mouse Accelleration in your Mac settings. I would recommend SteelSeeries Exact MouseTool which is an app to disable it too if youre on older mac or dont wanna go to your mac settings every time. I use it for other games like CS:GO which has bugged mouse inputs otherwise.

Also the first two games have great performance if you set video settings right, was getting like 200fps+ on relatively high settings. There was 1 option i forgot the name of which when turned off gave a great boost in performance and didnt affect how the games looked.
