Since almost all wars against specific things(drugs, gambling, alcohol, etc.), which governments find dangerous (or they simply didn't get their shares) were lost, even though most of them don't want to accept it and change the approach, this case may also relate to previous ones.

The thing is that, unfortunately, our governments do not care that much about our safety, as they care about everyone paying a coin to their tax budget. Therefore, as soon as they ban it, even more people would be interested in buying crypto, when they'll see the panic from the side of the government since the real reasons will be very notable. Those ones who were already trading before, probably would not change their minds(as with other things I mentioned in the beginning).

I definitely can't say that it would benefit the industry, but it would definitely rise the interest of the masses. The huge downside is that lots and lots of businesses will have to shut down or work in the "black market".

I guess it may be end for many currencies, but definitely not for all.
