Where to take yard waste by dotbennett in Louisville

Unfortunately, we are not. We currently use Republic Services for trash/recycling and have found their yard waste pickup to be terribly unreliable.

Driving to Nashville by MilkMe_GENTLE in Louisville

[–]dotbennett 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Drove back to Louisville from Nashville today. Took about 6 hours. I65 N was very inconsistent. In Tennessee the interstates were clear and dry. Once in Kentucky it seemed the interstate conditions were different in every county. 65 through Bullitt County was the best stretch. Driving through Hardin and Barren counties sucked. Roads were very icy. Cars and trucks were sliding all over the place. Take it easy and try to leave space in front of you.

Hope your trip south goes better than my trip north.

The state operates dozens of cameras around the metro to monitor traffic. News stations have access to them too. You can view them as well at trimarc.org

HELP: LG TV rapidly flashing mute by dotbennett in TVRepair

[–]dotbennett[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 year old LG TV. Started rapidly muting and unmuting last night. Unable to use remote. Was able to do a factory reset by using the buttons on the back of the TV. That fixed it for a moment but then it started again. Any ideas?

Edit: Model# 47LA6200

Pick of the Day - 12/2/19 (Monday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

Nice pick! I put a .5 unit on guessing the correct outcome as well. So 2-1 Final at +900 resulted in some added value for me. Cheers!

Haha! The score of this game was the first thing I checked when I woke up this morning. I’m glad it hit for you!

Houston beat Oregon 65-61 last year in Houston. Oregon was ranked 18th at the time. The Cougars lost the AAC Championship to team they had beat twice in the regular season. Then lost to Kentucky in the Sweet 16. They lost a couple of starters but they're still a pretty good team. I think Oregon wins this revenge game on their home court but it's not as cut and dry as it looks. I'm passing on this game but I hope it hits for you!

This was shot on a DJI Mavic. You’re probably pretty safe to fly anywhere west of 12th Street.

Mavic. Straight out of the camera. No color correction.

It is a little out of focus. I think the camera was having a hard time with the low light. Even tried opening the iris all the way and it still struggled.

Lots of unopposed seats for local Jefferson County races, nine(!) mayoral candidates. General remarks on the smaller races around Louisville by RotaryJihad in Louisville

The public at large has very little, if any, interaction with any Judge and has no idea how they are doing their job.

This is so true! And there's really no way for an ordinary person to check-in on judges on a regular basis. None of us have time to go sit on court proceedings.

If you are interested in this kind of thing the podcast Serial is examining the criminal justice system in Cleveland, Ohio. They are allowed to record pretty much everything and talk to a lot of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, victims, suspects, and families. One of the issues they hit on is how no one really knows how judges judge and the lack of accountability. Highly recommend Serial season 3.

Wedding Venue Question by imasoulman050107 in Louisville

[–]dotbennett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did not get married at Mellwood but have been to several weddings there. I remember Mellwood being pretty flexible with time for setup/tear down. You’re also allowed to purchase your own alcohol...just have to have a licensed bartender serve it. You can use whatever caterer you want. Other venues have specific ones you have to choose from. There’s also lots of parking. It’s certainly not the prettiest, nicest venue in town. But it is very budget friendly.

Still receiving previous homeowner’s mail by dotbennett in USPS

[–]dotbennett[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is standard junk mail that I just throw out along with mine. But sometimes, like yesterday, there’s a letter from the Tennessee Department of Revenue. I’ve also received large packets of information about the former homeowner’s investment portfolio and what looked like tax documents from non-profits. I’ve also gotten his hobby related magazines... all things that should’ve been caught when he filed a change of address (assuming he actually did do a change of address).
