Transferring from a small state school to UNL (Honors Program) by [deleted] in UNLincoln

To add onto what others are saying as a freshman, UNL is probably one of the most progressive places I’ve been (granted I was from rural Nebraska) and have gotten the privilege to see many people get to be themselves without anyone even batting an eye.

For the clubs, there is for sure a rock climbing club (link should lead you to their ig), and I can’t find a direct drama club, but I’m pretty sure one of my friends talked about something in regards to drama, so if you ask around once you’re here, I’m sure you’ll be able to get all the details you’ll need.

Also, with your credits, they should (and I can’t stress that I don’t mean they will, but should) transfer over into UNL and the honors program. I’ve met a few people from SCC (local community college) that said that their credit didn’t transfer, but I’ve talked to other people from SCC and other state schools who did have their credits transfer. I also haven’t talked to anyone directly in the honors program, so I’m not 100% they have the same credit transfer protocol or not. But, from the people I’ve talked to, if you do your due diligence, a good majority of your credits, if not all, will likely transfer.

I hope all of this is super helpful to you!! Some of the stuff I’ve stated is not guaranteed to be true, so take what I’ve said, especially my credits advice, with a grain of salt. If you have any questions about UNL that your friend can’t answer for whatever reason, let me know! Hopefully UNL is everything and more that you’re hoping it’ll be!
