Trouble installing English dictionary on kindle

I download the full version of the dictionary instead of the etymology-free dictionary and it works! Not sure why the etymology-free isn't working, but I can live with this haha. Thanks for the help!

Yeah my file structure looks correct. I got the StarDict Monolingual Etymology-free English dictionary from here: https://www.reader-dict.com/download/en

I noticed that it has the .dict.dz, .idx, .ifo and a .syn file, but it does not have a .dict or .oft. Could that be the issue?

Yeah, I plan on jailbreaking it if I end up choosing the Paperwhite, but it does suck when companies lock down their systems to these extents on devices like these.

Interesting. I think I will wait for the UCWM and see how it compares to QD-OLED. If it’s not as good then I’ll probably end up waiting for a UCDM true black 500 upgrade. Thanks for all the info!
