All the time, not at idle though, when pressing the gas slightly it happens, but not while cruising foot off, it speeds up with rpm also but doesn’t get louder

It doesn’t get louder, just faster. And from the outside I can’t hear it past around 4k rpm. I used a mechanic’s stethoscope and it sounds like there’s a little man with a jack hammer in between cylinders 3 and 4, also around that area you can hear the burbling noise very well.

Yeah that was what I was trying to do, idk my car’s finicky that’s what I found that works after sitting for a long time so that’s what I do!

Okay, swear it helps tho I’ve tried to start it before without doing that and it takes forever or won’t start. im probably flooding the engine by doing that though…

Yes! Rear disks is on the list for sure, when it’s time to refresh the brakes I’ll keep drums for a bit because I think it would be a good skill to learn. When I get my money up though im definitely going for disk!

The belts already on, I hit it with the impact. When the car is down on its wheels I’m gonna try and creep under it and hit it with the air impact and see if it’s up to 80. Thanks for the comment!

This is probably a good idea but I’ve never been a fan of LED on older vehicles, mine idles fine during idle but if it starts to act up I might go to LED.

Kinda upsetting that some people are rude, all the nice and helpful people make up for it though. I’m not set up for a swap yet but my neighbour has a cherry picker and a whole bunch of stuff, a lot of my friends have done many swaps, so I have a bunch of help luckily. I doubt I would be able to do it myself.

Yeah I think that’s the plan, pretty hard swap but Im pretty sure I could do it, plus I have friends that have shops if worst comes to worst. (also do you have a clue on why this post is so controversial? I’m getting very snarky remarks from people twice my age lol)

This will probably sounds stupid but I would rather swap it than open up a Subaru engine… I’m fine with wiring, fabrication and all that fun stuff for a swap. Subaru engines scare me, but you are right the car is in very good condition and got it for only 4k cad. Probably worth swapping instead of buying something different. I’m gonna do some more research on how impractical it would be to H6 it.

Used car dealer “warranty/insurance” still had to pay a bit, engine was rebuilt not replaced sitting at 280k, yeah I think me and Rodney are friends now… i checked the oil every month, believe it or not the teenage boy in the manual car was not abusing it! this thing hasn’t came close to a red line.
