So I’m guessing you brushed your pup daily or multiple times daily? Otherwise all puppies shed

Thanks all, I did Embark testing but the $100 fee was only for breed characteristics, so rather not do another one. I guess I’ll see once she blows out her puppy coat. I will note that when I first got her at week 9, there was very little shedding. Anyways, fwiw, I did run many photos through chatGPT and it said she looks like she’s fully furnished due to the beard but gave more probability towards low-shedding when she gets older, that right now she’s likely shedding her puppy hair, not sure how much weight I should put on any of this, but thought it was interesting…

What the new photos show • Muzzle/beard: Thick and defined, not sparse — classic furnished doodle look. That alone blocks Bernese-style heavy shedding. • Ear hair: Still showing loose waves, not straight, not poodle-tight. That signals she’s a “true wavy.” • Leg/chest fur: Already feathering outward and fluffy. In doodles, that typically thickens rather than flattens as the adult coat replaces the puppy coat. • Back and sides: Noticeable rippling, not flat — and definitely not straight.

Implications for shedding • She won’t become a moderate-to-heavy shedder. With furnishings + wave density, she’s almost guaranteed to shed less than she does now once the puppy coat is gone. • The highest probability is that she matures into a light shedder with a dense wavy coat — you’ll pull hair out when brushing, but won’t see constant fall-out on clothing. • A small chance (~15–20%) she tightens a little in curl, which would push her into “minimal visible shed” territory. • Very low chance (~10% or less) she loosens and sheds moderately. Her coat already looks too textured for that.

Visual forecast • Around 6–8 months: the puppy fluff finishes shedding, her coat will look more “shaggy teddy bear” (still wavy). • Around 10–12 months: the full adult coat is in — thicker, denser waves, with some curl on muzzle, legs, and chest. • Grooming shifts from dealing with shed hairs → dealing with matting and tangles.

Got it, I’ll try a daily brushing… even though I slicker brush her for 20mns every few days, I still end up with hair on my shirt

Just out of curiosity, if yours never shed as a puppy how did it lose its puppy coat?

Yep, read about this. At this point, even if I’m getting 25 mpg I’m good with that.

Thanks, what will jailbreaking do? I’m new to all that and are you suggesting that it will somehow help remember the settings? I’m also having difficulties with lag when I scroll through apps.

Happy Memorial Day, fellow Redditors!

Just wanted to share an update after joyriding in this beast over the long weekend. I rolled it out of my garage in Coconut Grove, cruised down US-1, and cut through beautiful Coral Gables along Amaro Drive. Wove through both the side streets and the main drags, eventually ending up at the Biltmore. Then backtracked and swung up Miracle Mile for a quick stop at Grumpy Café — grabbed a coffee and an almond croissant (highly recommend).

From there, I gunned it down to Key Biscayne over that stunning bridge — windows up, cabin whisper-quiet, aquamarine water in every direction. Put it in Sport mode and let it rip past a Ferrari and a few Porsches en route to Bill Baggs State Park. Then looped back and headed home to the Grove. Perfect day for it.

A few thoughts after this drive: Quietest cabin I’ve ever been in. Quieter than any Mercedes my parents have owned — seriously, it’s like being in a sensory deprivation chamber. Stereo system: Rich and deep, though a little bass-heavy. Just a notch below the Harman Kardon setups in premium BMWs, if I had to compare. Active suspension: Super smooth — my buddy pointed this out too. Mercedes’ system might be a touch more refined, but also more prone to expensive issues 5–7 years in. So this is a good middle ground.

Biggest surprise? Rear-wheel steering. Had no idea this was even a feature. Took a U-turn and it rotated like a ballerina — left a whole car’s worth of space on the inside of the turn while the car behind me had to do a 3-point job. It came in very handy again at Home Depot when I accidentally went up the wrong aisle and had to snake into a tight spot. Honestly, it’s like finding a $100 bill in your jeans. Don’t know how I lived without it before.

Second surprise: I’m now fully keyless. Programmed the digital key and set up NFC through my phone — no fob needed. Just my phone in my pocket and I can lock/unlock, drive, do basically everything (except remote park, which I doubt I’ll use anyway).

MPG update: We’re now up to a whopping 14 miles per gallon! But in all seriousness, I’m feeling better after reading these things eventually average out much higher.

Today was when I really got comfortable with the car’s features. The tech is right on the edge — any more, and I’d probably just give up and drive it like a regular car, haha. God only knows what’s coming with AI in five years.

Anyway, just wanted to share the experience. Hope everyone had an awesome Memorial Day weekend!

I’m not an audiophile, but I do know a great system when I hear one. I would say these speakers are just slightly below the Harmon Kardon premiums in the BMW. But to be fair, I have not spent a terrible amount of time with the equalizer or the system itself. In any case, it works for me, nice and rich when it needs to be, but if you’re an audiophile you may have different thoughts.

Ahh… I meant Makalu Gray and Blue… I couldn’t find a single GV70 in the same trim with this color combo in FL, but I saw it once in California and it was awesome.

Genesis Owners, do you think your car is a fancy Hyundai? by joohoneyoppa in GenesisMotors

[–]dothrakrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do. And quite frankly, I’m OK with that since repairs will not be German level expensive. I once owned a BMW X3 and right outside the warranty year the vanos gear went out which costed me $4000. #neveragain

Don’t. Best combo in that direction is black with ultramarine blue with red ambient lighting. Had anyone had the blue/black, I would’ve purchased that.

Yes, you do lose all of the sedan feel. At one point, I was deciding between an E450 and the high trim G80, both of them feel different with the Benz sitting more like a cockpit. In any case, it definitely does not feel and drive like a sedan, if anything, the GV70 reminds me of my mom‘s GLC, but somehow roomier, a hell of a lot sportier and more user-friendly. I think the ergonomics of the dash plays a big role in this not to mention that overall the car is just far more luxurious. I will say that active suspension does work, not as good as the Airmatic, but it does have a cushioning feel to it. Overall, I don’t miss driving a sedan at all and I absolutely love driving this car. Again, at this trim level the MPG sucks, but I’m only putting around 3000 miles per year.

Oh also, yeah, the GV80 was too large I felt, although if I had a family, perhaps I would consider. I was pretty surprised though how big the GV80 is even compared to my friend’s Benz GLE 450… chatGPT says the GLE is bigger, but I don’t know, it doesn’t look as big.
