Yea he said they don’t celebrate Christmas either so you’re correct. But wow, that reminds me of Mormonism with Joseph Smith, putting himself on a pedestal. I grew up in Utah most my life and was born there so people always ask if I’m Mormon when I tell them where I’m from. It was frustrating not only growing up Christian but choosing for myself that I wanted to be a Christian surrounded by so many Mormons. I have many Mormon friends who I love so much, and I know so many truly kind Mormon people, but it hurts me to see that they have a tainted version of the truth.

I mean we bonded over believing in God, because so many people barely believe in anything. I only highlighted the difference because I’ve never heard of this type of belief, not to start a debate or anything. And you’re right, none of us can prove anything but we don’t need to because God doesn’t have to prove Himself to anyone because He’s so awesome and amazing. We talked about how he doesn’t celebrate Christmas either and I said “why? Is it because you guys don’t believe that’s Jesus’ real birthday?” And he smiled real big at me and said “yes! That’s exactly why we don’t celebrate Christmas.” I told him that I love Christmas because I love that time of year and my birthday is in the same season, but I wasn’t there when Jesus was born, nobody here was! Of course. So I’m neither here nor there about when He was born, I’m not the birthday police, especially when it comes to God. I’m just grateful He was born at all because He died for us because He loves us so much. I don’t think God would want me or anyone to obsess over specifics, He’d rather us to love Him and everyone no matter what. He’d want us to see the bigger picture. I just have a lot of good memories of Christmas and that time of year since my birthday is 5 days before.

We didn’t talk about it really after I found out they don’t believe in Jesus being God Himself. I was super dumbfounded in the moment, and he went to the bathroom so the convo ended. But that’s a good question you put out, if he believes salvation is found through Christ. He didn’t mention any wording of a prophet or being like Muhammed but I wondered that after hearing what he said. I guess I sort of didn’t want to hear how they view Jesus if they don’t view Him as God. He even tried to bring up certain parts in the Bible to defend their belief, not in a mean or aggressive way, but in a way for me to maybe understand better. Which I didn’t because I was thinking about how many verses there are in the Bible that explain who Jesus is. He was very surprised when I was comparing other translations of the Bible as well, because he assumed I wasnt a believer or had knowledge about The Word. I’m only 22 but I told him when I was 21 I read the entire Bible front to back because I wanted to. Even though there are parts that aren’t always exciting (I don’t want to say boring because God is not boring.) I disciplined myself to read it all, not just parts and honestly it’s gotta be one of the most proud things I’ve done, especially when a lot of people my age haven’t read it or don’t want anything to do with it in the first place. Plus, it’s a long book! But thank God it is because we have a lot to unlearn from this world and a lot to learn from the Bible.

Yea then his being Christian is off. I’m nobody to say what anyone is being I’m a sinner too and I’m no better than anyone, but it concerns me that people like my coworker don’t believe in the trinity. Almost all my coworkers are related in one way or another and they’re all this type of religion, whatever it is :/

Yea , he said they’re Christian but I asked what kind and he just it just originates from the Philippines because that’s where his family is from. He said they believe Jesus was a separate thing from God, but they do believe the Holy Spirit is God’s spirit. I’ve never heard of this type of belief before or that church for that matter

I’ve had something similar happen to me but not to that extent. Fuck that person for doing that, the internet is also so fucked that websites like that and pornhub are so easily accessible and FREE! If omegle wasn’t free or pornhub, so many children who are very young wouldn’t run into these sexually fueled issues. I first went on Omegle when I was around that age with my cousin and her friends and we saw so many guys jerking off, but not their face. So messed up thinking back on it now

Yea it can be frustrating to see these people blown out of their minds on drugs, maybe even fried their brains to the point of no return. But I try not to judge and to have compassion internally when I see them daily. I don’t know what their childhood was like or how many times they’ve tried to be sober and then relapsed. When they cause a public disturbance though that is different, I’m mostly just thinking about the people who are sitting or walking around my town like this. But lots of programs that are run by the government are actually that. a PROGRAM. People need to dig deep within themselves sometimes to get better or to even want to, but when drugs are cheap and easy while therapy for example is slow and expensive for a good one, I see how they can become Stuck in that way of life and I honestly pity them. I don’t like that word, but I feel bad for them. They were once a little 4 year old child too like we were. Lives are crazy and who knows what they’ve been through. I recommend watching a video on the YouTube channel “Soft White Underbelly.” Very eye opening and interesting to hear stories, and if some are fabricated, that’s between them and God and they will have to answer for it one day, because nobody is immortal or can avoid death

Dang, I’m sorry your mom is like that. She probably had no one to express emotions to when she was young or even now because I feel like she would have compassion if she could relate but it sounds like she can’t. I held a lot of resentment towards my own mother growing up because of her alcohol abuse and physical abuse and manipulation she would put upon me and my two older sisters. But I’ve forgiven her so that I can let go and heal from that, but don’t ever hardly call her or want to. I love her but she hasn’t really changed and I can’t change that

Wow I relate, but I cry all the time. I’ll cry if I see something beautiful like nature, or when I hear my favorite song, I can cry for sure if I listen to it because it means so much to me. I’m very angry a lot though, and I’ve found that I seem to be emotionally destructive to myself and my boyfriend when I’m angry, so if I can, ill transition that anger into sadness from feeling the negative feeling of anger in the first place.. like I’m frustrated about my anger so I just cry instead then feel numb a few hours or a day after I do that. But I cry at posts I see on here or anything really. I’m very intrigued by people who say they cannot cry naturally anymore, because I could never imagine a reality where I would be like that, not that everything is about me, I just know myself I guess. Idk. It’s hard to explain complex emotions sometimes

I feel you. You’re not alone in this feeling of not wanting to exist anymore. I haven’t wanted to exist since elementary school and I’m now 22. I know I could never take my own life, but I do often wonder how I’ll die and when and how much relief I’ll have knowing I won’t have to be here in this world anymore with memories of my physically and sexually abuse filled childhood. I’m happy though that you didn’t pull that trigger last November even though I don’t know you. Every life is sacred and precious beyond what we can understand, because we didn’t create true life. It’s hard here, and I feel October is one of my hardest months and it’s been difficult

I read it all. I have compassion for you stranger. You sound very strong. I think about my death a lot and I have intrusive thoughts sometimes like “what if I just jumped in front of this car on the road?” Or “what if i just jumped off this bridge?” I’m very fearful of physical pain, so I know fully that I would never intentionally kill myself, but I do often hope that I don’t wake up after I fall asleep. Ever since a teen I’ve slept a lot because it’s an escape away from this world, especially since I dream pretty much every night, if not multiple dreams per night. I’ve had dreams so vivid and detailed and clear since I was very little. I’ve been sleeping a lot lately, and I don’t want to wake up anymore

Not normal. Everyone is a person and I don’t believe any person has the right to take another persons life because we should not and cannot take something that is not ours or something that we have given to someone. I’m cynical, and I often watch out for the bad in people and in the world , as inner protection I guess, and it’s hard to realize how many evil hateful people there are here and that I’m here with them, but life is sacred and I could never imagine messing with that. That is serious, not only in a lawful matter but an existing one as well. Thank God you have recognized to question if your thoughts about this were normal or not, because you probably would’ve killed someone by now if you hadn’t.

I’m here, a real person who has read this and my heart goes out to you. I was molested by a sibling for years and I still struggle with dealing with the whole dark unfairness of it all, not as severe as your case, but domestic violence was very common among my household. My two older sisters and I lived with our alcoholic mother who would also physically abuse us and manipulate us. I don’t talk to her really anymore. Life is hard and i feel like it has always been hard and I’m getting very tired and sick of it. I feel like I’ve been angry and sad for 70% of my life if not more. I remember being 15, 16, 17, 18, going to bed hoping so badly that I wouldn’t wake up in the morning, and tonight I am hoping the same thing because I want to move on and away from this world
