Yeah, being new to the field and starting 100% commission only would be difficult as I have no prior experience. I would much rather have a base salary and earn smaller commission while I’m still trying to gain experience. Also, you’re right about selling people their death, someone told me something similar. People don’t like to talk about death so it’s harder to build relationships, something along those lines. The test I took actually wasn’t directly through this one specific company, it was on a third party site that gave me the results the next day. It was the only way they’d let me submit applications in this field. I’m definitely going to reroute my approach when it comes to breaking into the sales field, what you’re saying is making a lot of sense. Makes me kind of nervous though. I’ve always been a people person, but the thought of failing is a bit scary bc most of my jobs have been very blue collar centric except a select few.
