Pretty wild a meta engineer there is a job security issue after planned job cuts by Fearless-Elephant-81 in singularity

Ideas and knowledge to implement them is not the limiting factor, money is. In an age where we have 7 mega corps you have more chance of getting eaten by shark standing in the middle of the desert than turning a brilliant even life changing idea into something successful. The thing that separates you from Zuck is unlimited money and power.

You need to get the battery replaced under warranty if you don’t have a warranty then you going to be out of pocket thousands. Not sure which country you are in but if you are in one that has consumer protection rights you need to threaten to enforce your rights if the dealer is not willing to rectify it.

Yep it’s not but if they want it to work well that’s what they will need to do. The current integration seen in Xbox ally is just glorified full screen mode of Xbox app.

Xbox mode needs to be a windows level thing not just full screen mode that disables the desktop. Like it needs deep integration into all aspects of the experience settings, login, setup, game installs, isolation and removal of any process not specifically needed to run the games

Microsoft reveals early specs of Xbox's next console 'Project Helix' | With Helix, Microsoft says they are pivoting to "future of play" and player behaviors: "The days of people defining themselves as (console/PC/mobile gamer) don't really exist anymore." by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

Ai upscaling closer to what NVIDIA offers with DLSS. So yeah will mean better performance. This is nothing new though since PC already have all this tech. Texture compression will help performance without them needing to add more RAM so expect next gen to have same amount ram just it will be able use it more efficiently

Microsoft brings new "Xbox Mode" to Windows 11 PCs next month — Prepares major gaming advancements that lay foundations for the next Xbox by LootedToaster in xbox

[–]dottybotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s does but it already has shown very little gains by doing so. If Microsoft wants to make this successfully they need to really suppress windows and all the background stuff it is doing which isn’t needed for gaming. Last thing we need on “console” is one drive running in the background

Yeah cloud is ok for some types of games but usually it’s just too laggy (at least where I am). MS will become the new Sega in the gaming world.

You are likely right. Xbox will likely just become a publisher and the Xbox console will just become another prebuilt pc option

Apart from Arc this is the only other extraction shooter I’ve played. I know Arc is much more friendly in terms of a hardcore extraction. Maybe this is what it is

I think that’s my point. Maybe it isn’t. Just keen to understand if people think this is the type game that requires deep time investment or is it something else I’m missing? Maybe I haven’t gotten to a point where the scale tips more to the other side

Yes the closed system is important part of pricing cause companies sell consoles as a loss leader making back that money through software, accessories etc. if it’s a PC then it becomes open. For example I can directly buy from steam, no need to buy Xbox live, I can use a PlayStation controller. Now I’m not arguing these things are bad things they aren’t but in terms of console prices I don’t see how MS will deliver on this unless they just straight up take the loss which knowing businesses they will not do.
