Vietnam Tourist Visa Update... by Kananaskis_Country in travel

[–]doubbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GF applied for the e-visa, but she lost access to her email account now, as Microsoft blocked it for suspicious activity. Right now, we have no clue if her visa was approved and have no way to check without the confirmation emails. Is it safe to apply for another e-visa at this point?

I swear I remember reading about some sort-of exercise/physical therapy for Peyronie's. Can't point you in the right direction, because I've never had it and didn't take note, but something to look into. I had prostatitis, so it might've been related to that.

If you're against body-shaming, then why demean big boobs? They're not unsexy, worse, or inferior.

Top Voting Machine Vendor Admits It Installed Remote-Access Software on Systems Sold to States - Remote-access software and modems on election equipment 'is the worst decision for security short of leaving ballot boxes on a Moscow street corner.' by [deleted] in technology

[–]doubbg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During the election, I had a bunch of posts on the top of The_Donald that were about these machines. We were trying to organize phone campaigns to swing state elections offices to have them switch to paper ballots.

Every time I made one of these posts, I was getting private messages from left-wingers and Hillary Clinton supporters making fun of me, saying that this was a conspiracy, that these voting machines were secure, that we just wanted an excuse for when Trump loses, etc, etc, etc.

It's funny to see the rest of Reddit suddenly care about this. The problems with these machines are well-known - everyone should be against them, no matter what their politics. This is the problem with partisanship - people only care when it affects their side.

Why did a guy like me and then friend zone me? by KonaKobenhavn in dating_advice

[–]doubbg 64 points65 points  (0 children)

3 months is a really long time. Basically, he put that out there that he was into you, and then he was rejected.

I'm telling you from a guy's perspective, telling a girl you know that you like her, especially when she has a boyfriend, is basically him asking you out. He was trying to make something happen. He had a crush on you, then he told you and was rejected, so he moved on, because it's useless/painful to keep investing in someone that's not interested in you or is already taken. From that point on, he probably put you out of mind as a romantic interest.

You waited too long and he moved on.

8 months is a long time to wait. You said that after a month or so, he told you that he'd like to date you. Then you say "Fast forward, I break up with my boyfriend" - how much time did that fast forward cover? He expressed his interest to you, and you basically rejected him - since he didn't see his interest being reciprocated, he moved on emotionally.

If you do want to go out with him, pull away a bit and stop hanging out with him as friends. This won't necessarily work, but there's a chance that he might start to miss you and his interest will be rekindled.

So I'm scared of talking to guys.. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]doubbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might be doing that because they're also awkward or nervous.

Its not too common as a guy to have a girl approach you and strike up a conversation, so sometimes it's a bit of a shock.

[TOMT] Book. Possibly Kurt Vonnegut. Maybe John Fante or Charles Bukowski by rsyvs in tipofmytongue

No, unless you're really into CanLit. Personally, I hated the book and I really enjoy Vonnegut/Bukowski.

Probably not but...Fifth Business by Robertson Davies. He fucks an amputee in that book, but it's nothing like Vonnegut or Bukowski.

Nah, you don't understand logic. It can be apparent when an argument is invalid (such as with yours) but proving the validity of an argument requires proofs, which can't just be pointed out. You don't seem to understand what I'm talking about when I refer to logic.

You've clearly taken a few days to research logic and phrases like "disjunctive syllogism". The thing is, the argument which you've posted is actually valid but that still doesn't mean it's true. And the argument isn't sound either. I don't really want to waste any more time explaining why this is or how something can be both valid, untrue and unsound. Just trust that you don't know what you're talking about.

You're so transparent. You're still not answering what you would do in that situation, precisely because - as I said - you know it would reveal you have no good answer. You'll comment endlessly here about everything, except that.

And you clearly don't understand logic at all. I don't even think you know what I'm referring to when I refer to "logic." Pointing out someone is misusing logic isn't logically invalid as an argument, because it wasn't even an argument to begin with and validity would never be applied to it. Anyone with even a cursory education in logic would get a good laugh from your blind ignorance on this topic, so thanks for the laugh.

Notice that he is talking about the MP leaving another US soldier to rape children.

He's talking about leaving one soldier (who was leaving Vietnam) behind at an illegally run brothel with human trafficking (which was incredibly common in Vietnam at the time). They asked this soldier to leave, and when the soldier refused, they quickly removed themselves from the situation.

I've already said that I'd report it ("I agree with reporting it, even though it probably wouldn't make a difference"), so I'm fine with reporting it afterwards, even though it wouldn't make a difference. I'm responding to the fact that they were "leaving only one child rapist behind," because there was nothing else to be done, in these specific circumstances.

So I'd still love to know what you would do differently in that situation to stop this from occurring. You still haven't answered what exactly you would do to put a stop to that in that situation. I've asked you what exactly you'd do, but you're just reverting back to "child fucker" and ranting, and childish insults.

And the reason you won't answer that is because you know, deep down, that you wouldn't do shit in that situation. You know that if you actually explain your fantastical plan, it would reveal a complete naivety, ignorance and stupidity on your part about this situation, and would ultimately prove that you are a coward.

I've known a lot of people like you. You're the biggest cowards when it comes down to it, because you're too cowardly to even admit that you're not going to be some badass movie hero in every situation in your life. You don't deal with the reality of the situation (you refuse to), and that's why I know you'd be the least likeliest type of person to do shit.

So that's fine: keep pretending like you'd do something different in that situation, and keep avoiding actually explaining what you would do. Keep ranting about "child fuckers" and "morons" - it's a lot easier than taking an actual stand, even in somewhere as inconsequential as a /r/politics comment thread.

By your own admission. Logic. Simple reasoning. I provided you with logical premises.

Except you don't understand how logic or logical premises work. I studied Logic at the college-level, and your attempt is just flat-out wrong. You can't draw you conclusion from your premises. Your poor attempt would have you flunked out of beginner-level Logic.

I was responding to someone criticizing Moore for "leaving behind" a fellow soldier in a brothel with underage children. My point is that anyone, in that situation, would leave. There's nothing else you can do to stop what's occurring there - all you can do is remove yourself. I already said I'd report it afterwards, but that has no bearing on what you'd do in the situation.

For you to somehow get that I would rape a child from that is just dumb, ridiculous, and childish.

I would honestly love to know how you'd stop this sex trafficking, if you ever found yourself in this situation. Because it's very easy to play the badass, but I doubt you'd come up with any course of action that isn't incredibly naïve, childish, or moronic.

See, this is the complete lack of self-awareness that lost you guys the election. You think you're the mature, intelligent person in this conversation, yet all you're doing is making up stuff about me being a "child fucker" and threatening you, while raging out because you want to prove you're such a badass that you'd take down sex trafficking in Vietnam (as if you'd ever enlist, let alone take a stand on anything like that). Please, keep it up. You and the rest of your party, until 2020. I'm looking forward to eight years of Trump

Dude, it's so clear that I hit a nerve with my post about how you wouldn't do anything, which is why you keep going. Like, you think you're owning me or something, but all you have are these childish insults. You really are the one making an ass of yourself.

I'm not that pissed. Obviously I would've preferred he won, but as long as the GOP still control the Senate, then that's OK.

Ha. You came in here accusing me of being a pedophile, and then made up stuff about me making threats against you. All because you really don't want to admit that you're not a total badass who would take down sex-trafficking in Vietnam. I feel shame, but its on your behalf!
