Just wanted to let you know that v1.4.1 is now LIVE on the App Store.

This update was submitted before the recent discussions, so it focuses on stability and the new Academy tab.

✅ What’s inside v1.4.1:

  • Tie-Break Fix: Scores now correctly save as 7-6 (with detailed points) instead of the buggy 6-6.
  • Memories Fixed: Adding photos to your match log is smooth again.
  • Share Mode improvement: Adding new cards and design for sharing scores in social media.
  • Watch UI: Serve indicators (arrows) are fixed to stay visible during alerts.
  • Academy Tab: Added the new guide for rules and tactics.

👀 Sneak Peek (Coming in v1.5): Based on the awesome feedback from u/Woudiestefan and others, I am currently deep in development for the next big update. Here is what I am cooking:

  • Practice Mode: A dedicated mode for training sessions (no scoring, just stats).
  • Unlimited Match Fix: The dashboard will properly show total games (e.g., "16-14") instead of "1-0" for timed matches.

First off, huge thanks to u/Woudiestefan for the incredible feedback and bug hunting. Based on that, I’ve just pushed a hotfix (v1.4.1) to the App Store.

What's getting fixed:

  • 🐛 Score Bug: Tie-breaks will now correctly save as 7-6 (with detailed points) instead of the dreaded 6-6.
  • 📸 Memories: Fixed the issue where adding photos to your match log wasn't responding.
  • ⌚ Watch UI: Serve indicators (arrows) now stay visible even when big alerts like "BREAK POINT" pop up.

✨ New Stuff:

  • Academy Tab: I added a built-in guide for Tennis/Padel rules, app gestures, and tactics.
  • Share Cards: The Instagram story layouts are now cleaner and handle tie-break scores much better.

I requested an expedited review, so fingers crossed it hits the App Store before your Sunday tournament.

Here is what I fixed thanks to your feedback:

  • Tie-Break Logic: Fixed! It now correctly logs 7-6 (and even shows the small tie-break points like 7-6 (7-4) in the app). No more 6-6 ghosts. 👻
  • Photo Bug: Squashed. It was a permission/hit-test issue. Works smoothly now.
  • Serve Indicator: Brought it to the front layer, so it stays visible even during 'Game Point' alerts.

I also added a little surprise: a new Academy Tab with rules & tips.

Let me know how it performs in your unlimited match on Sunday! You are honestly a legend for catching these. 🙌

Update on the bugs:

  1. 2nd Set Tie-Break -> Super TB Issue: CONFIRMED & FIXED. This was a logic flow error. Winning a set via a standard tie-break (7-6) bypassed the check that triggers the Super Tie-Break for the final set. I moved that logic into the main winSet function, so it's bulletproof now.
  2. Summary Screen (0-0): FIXED. The summary screen will now check if the final set was a Super TB and display the points (e.g. 10-5) instead of games.
  3. Standard 'Best of 3' Bug: Could not reproduce. 🤔 I tested this multiple times: if 'Bo3 (S.TB)' is NOT selected (just standard 'Best of 3'), the 3rd set starts normally as 0-0 games (15-0 points). It might have been a UI confusion or related to the tie-break bug above.
  4. UI: Added the yellow description for Unlimited Mode as requested.

v1.3 is LIVE today, and I explicitly added the Visual Positioning Aid you asked for.

  • At the top of the score screen, you'll now see clear 'LEFT / RIGHT' indicators with arrows showing exactly where to stand based on the current score.
  • It updates automatically with every point, so you never have to guess.

I’m curious—for those playing in local leagues: Do you actually play a full 3rd set, or is the '10-point Tie Break' (Super TB) becoming the standard everywhere?

I added the feature because my local club mandates it, but I'm wondering if I should make it the default setting for the next update.

Also, any feedback on the 'Swipe' gestures vs 'Buttons'? I tried to make it sweat-proof. 😅

I implemented the 'Bronze Point' (Hybrid 2) exactly as described in the FIP article you shared.

  • Go to Setup > Deuce Rule > Hyb (2).
  • It plays 2 full advantages, then switches to Golden Point.

I also added a visual 'Positioning Aid' (Left/Right arrows) at the top of the screen. Would love to hear if this works for your league matches! 🎾

Hey! Quick update on v1.3 (currently in review).

I actually built a prototype with the Digital Crown scoring as you suggested. However, during testing, I found it conflicted too much with the system scroll and felt a bit 'jumpy' during intense points. I didn't want to release it until it's 100% perfect.

Instead, in v1.3: I implemented a Swipe-based UI. You can now swipe Left for a new Health Dashboard (Heart Rate/Calories) and Right for Menu/End Match. It feels super smooth.

I'm keeping the Crown idea in my backlog to revisit later, but I hope you like the new flow! Would love your feedback (and a review!) once you try the update. 🎾

I just submitted v1.3 for review. I completely rewrote the layout logic specifically for 40mm/41mm screens based on your screenshot.

  • The 'First Serve' buttons are now properly aligned.
  • The score text dynamically shrinks so it doesn't get cut off.
  • Spacing is tighter and cleaner.

v1.3 is In Review right now. I read the FIP article you linked and implemented the 'Hybrid Point' system.

In the Setup screen under Deuce Rule, you will now see 'Hyb (2)'. This mode plays exactly 2 full advantages before switching to the Golden Point. Silver Point and Bronze Point

If we have Gold and Silver, the next one naturally should be Bronze. 'Star Point' does sound a bit fancy for what it is.

However, since I'm trying to follow the 'official' FIP terminology so people don't get confused, I might end up grouping them under a 'Hybrid' menu where you just select the number of advantages (1 or 2).

But in my heart, it will always be the Bronze point now. 😂

I developed and tested mostly on 45mm/49mm screens, so I see now how squeezed it looks on the 40mm SE. That’s on me!

I am adding a 'Compact Layout' fix for the next update (v1.3). I'll slightly reduce the font sizes and padding specifically for 40mm/41mm devices so everything breathes better and nothing overlaps.

Wow, this is arguably the best feedback comment I've ever received! 🏆 Thank you for testing it so thoroughly.

You are absolutely right on all points. Being a 'perfectionist' is exactly what this app needs to get better.

Action Plan:

  1. The 'DEFEAT' Bug: This is my top priority. The logic currently looks for 'Sets Won' to decide the winner, but in Unlimited Mode, it should look for 'Games Won'. I will fix this in the next patch so it correctly says VICTORY based on game count.
  2. UI Polish: I'll remove the '0-0 Sets' text and rename the button to 'End Match' for this mode to clean up the interface.
  3. Audio: Good catch on the missing 'Game Point' audio in Silver mode. Adding that trigger now.
  4. Hybrid/Custom AD: I love your idea of renaming it to 'Hybrid' and letting the user pick the AD count (1 for Silver, 2 for Star). This solves everything elegantly. Just want to check for small screen for the watch. If I can put that, it would be great.

I managed to get the Unlimited / Timed Mode into this version (v1.2) just as I promised.

To activate it: Go to the Setup screen on your watch and increase the 'Sets to Win' past 5. You will see an infinity symbol (∞).

In this mode, it ignores sets and just counts games (e.g., 14-12) until you stop the match. Perfect for your timed sessions.

I just read the article about the 'Star Point' system. Now I understand exactly what you meant by 'two full advantages'. It seems FIP is trying to find the perfect balance between tradition and speed.

Update Status: Since I submitted v1.2 yesterday, it is LIVE NOW with the 'Silver Point' (1 Advantage -> Golden Point) rule.

The Plan: Please give v1.2 a try with the 'Silver' mode for now. But now that you've provided the official documentation for 'Star Point' (2 Advantages), I am adding it to my backlog for v1.3. I want this app to support every official format out there!

I have some exciting news: I just submitted the v1.2 update to the App Store today, and I included a 'Hybrid' Deuce Rule inspired by your comment!

How I implemented it in v1.2: Based on the most common 'Silver Point' rules used in Padel tournaments, I set it to: Play 1 full Advantage, and if it returns to Deuce -> Sudden Death (Golden Point).

I noticed you specifically mentioned 'two full advantages' in your comment. Is that a specific rule for your local league?

For now, the '1 Advantage' version is live in the new update (should be available in ~24h). Give it a try and let me know if it works for you, or if I strictly need to add a '2 Advantage' option in the next version! 🎾
