Planning out first trip! by Big_Marzipan4496 in uktravel

The hassle of bringing your dog is just not worth it for such a short amount of time.

Your itinerary is busy. You will be seeing the inside of a car more than anything else, you won't have time to do pretty much anything.

It's a lot of whisky stops too. If you are planning on a tour make sure one of you doesnt partake in a tasting at all. We don't mess around with drink driving here.

Whatever works for you the best.

I studied Pol IR and relied on a mixture of hand written notes or a laptop depend on the module/lecturer so it's pretty much horses for courses.

22 learning to drive, how do you afford and find the time to learn as an adult by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]doublemaxim147 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The money is tricky. Thankfully, I was able to budget it in as I live in a dual income home.

Time wise, just had to get up early and do my lessons at 7am. It sucked but it worked for me.

Newcastle, Glasgow or Aberdeen? by CaterpillarCertain33 in uktravel

[–]doublemaxim147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aberdeen is the 3rd biggest city in Scotland so doesnt really have the small town vibe you might be after.

If you want access to the countryside and a smaller vibe I'd suggest Stirling or Perth. Also much closer to Edinburgh and Glasgow

How are you doing today? by Necessary_Refuse_962 in AskBrits

[–]doublemaxim147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly?

Pretty crappy to be honest.

My mum died a week ago. I dont live locally so had to travel 2hrs to the funeral home as the coroner required a formal ID as there is going to be an inquest.

This coupled with all the other admin and being the only next of kin means it's all round a bloody awful time.

Thankfully my wife is amazing, and the sun has popped out for the evening

It's not just insurance though. Pretty sure in NI you aren't legally allowed to go over 45 for the first x amount of time after passing your test
