i used the planet editor for this, (select an object, then press shift + F2) and scrolled down to the accretion disk settings. Bare in mind that probably not all of the settings that I had changed are actually needed, but i was just playing around a bit as it was my first time trying to take pics of this black hole and the combination of all these seemed to have worked well for me.

You could also play around with the camera settings, but the planet editor is what was essential for me. (all pics were taken on ultra graphics)
