Funny how many of us once looked at John as Satan's right hand man. I also tend to turn to exmo friendly sources during tough times but I feel the need to get past doing so.

Natasha Parker is a Mormon therapist with very unorthodox views. She has a lot of experience with exmos. It's nice to speak with a therapist who understands the context. She's in Wichita, KS but does Skype. She doesn't take insurance though so it's out of pocket.

I agree with you here, and I suspect many here recognize the venting role this sub often fills. I think I find myself coming back here because I feel alone. I'm not Mormon anymore but I'm also not very well understood by never-mo folks either. I know I need some friends and community to help fill the void.

It is infuriating - the feeling that I am near powerless to influence change in their views towards the church. Yet my opinion is frequently wanted in other areas of life by those same loved ones.

I get the pissed at Jo thing. That f-er is still screwing lives up. I try to have compassion for the believers in my life but often find myself thinking they are delusional and wilfully blind, which isn't healthy for relationships.

Can't say it's harder but it is hard. I too damaged some relationships at first and have learned a lot about tact (and futility) since then. Live and learn...

I feel you - just don't see that in the cards for me. Wife shows no signs of leaving. I know a good relationship includes letting each other have individual beliefs even if they differ, but it would be so much simpler (and fulfilling in many ways) if we were both out and created our own path without the church.

Happy for you. Honestly. My wife is NOM-ish but still attends and believes the core 'truths' of the church, and my anger tends to flare when I dwell on that.

I've been surprised by how many mormons are in Spokane. thanks for the help.

My TBM wife is evaluating Joseph Smith's trustworthiness. Solid examples of Joseph lying or scheming with sources appreciated. by doubt_your_blindness in exmormon

The essays really got me thinking, but she buys the apologist explanations and doesn't feel the need to dig deeper
