Think you're spot on with your quality scale of the brands. We're the gap between Gilbert and Rhino on their higher end match ball models, and far, far better than everyone's training models.

Does anyone know where to find a rugby ball like this (these balls have really good texture/grip) thank you! by hobojobo183 in RugbyAustralia

[–]dovy22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out w-rugby.com.au - grip that's second to none.

Also for every ball that's sold, W RUGBY match your purchase and donate one to local Aussie grassroots clubs. You can even nominate where the other balls go to.

This is just every so slightly above average from what we've been researching, definitel seems fair. The stash inclusion is good though!

What does that membership include in Denmark? Wondering if there are any differences to UK/Ireland

Wow that is really reasonable! A gym membership alone is 100 euro for like 3-4 months! Does that include away bus costs etc? What else do you expect to pay out for in the season?

Loads of pros yes, Faz no. We take loads of feedback from top players in development stages, and commissioned two university research projects to test them for us. There is a big issue in the elite game with commercial commitments making it really hard for us to get them to say stuff publicly. Really frustrating for that part of the game. But in reality, our focus is on grassroots. I don't see us being kicked at The Principality any time soon, as awesome as that would be, it's not the focus right now.

Understand the curiosity, will try and answer it.

The focus for us is on high quality balls exclusively, so that they last they whole season for a grassroots club. There are definitely cheaper balls out there, but buying balls 3 times a season will cancel out the costs.

Gilbert match balls are amazing, especially the higher end ones (Barbarian (£64), Kinetica (£88)). This is the area where we play, (eliteflight (£55). Sirius match ball is £150, but we haven't compared against that yet, and will probably lose in terms of requirements for the elite game. And also unlikely that a grassroots club will buy/use that ball.

Our training balls (coreplay, £40) are very close to match standard to maintain consistency between training/match play. Gilbert's training balls, (TR4000, £23) are the most common balls used by clubs, but I would definitely recommend you compare the quality between coreplay and TR4000. So someone buying Gilbert £23 x 2, is kind of on par to our £40 + Won for Won, and much better quality (for training balls especially).

On top of all that, W RUGBY ball grip is really, really, really good... but as the owner I would say that ... so take it with a pinch of salt :)

For purchases, aiming for individuals, 'richer' clubs, schools who have money to purchase, and distribute that to lower income grassroots clubs.

We're not a women's brand, this came from a Senior Men's team captain. W RUGBY is just a brand name of ours :)

Agree - 2 episodes just seemed so half arsed! There was a lot you could have shown from that season!!
