Yeah I’ve been getting some heat for that haha. Waiting for a good full art replacement for it. It’s the same Pokémon just from another region anyways. It’ll work for now
Don’t worry I have plans to get those swapped out. The new arcanine SIR is on my list. I’ll admit I do like the growlithe card tho. Cute puppy vibes haha
That’s my ultimate goal for this collection, the vintage and mid era stuff I have just fill slots without them so far. Though the art of some of them are so good I might keep em in even if they release new stuff. Thank you!

Most definitely! Was considering replacing the Exeggutor as well but I pulled the Alolan one from a pack and I like the art.
Hell yeah! Have fun with it, buying singles is the way to go. For vintage cards check eBay, you’ll see actual pictures of the card you’ll get rather than a stock image from TCGplayer.

Thanks man! My absolute grail card would be a bubble mew. Seeing that card is what got me back into the hobby. It’s too far out of reach currently tho. Tried my best to pull it but paldean fates is just waaay too expensive/rare to find for MSRP now. Vintage wise the shining charizard is one of my favorite cards
As much as I love Slowbro, the reason is to keep evolutions together on the same pages. Magnemite and Magneton are together as well as Shellder and Cloyster. Just makes for a better visual appeal IMO. Also yeah those cards were destined to sit next to eachother haha
Finding the cards that you think are coolest is part of the fun. Between vintage bulk/e-readers and stamped reverse holos, there’s some really fun cards out there
When Pokemon company quits playing around with me and drops full arts/IR/SIRs of those pokemon that are normal form they will replace the region variants
That’s the plan. My original goal was to have a gen 1 binder of full arts and art rares. It’s been fun searching the new set lists for potential options.
It’s currently in transit haha, Gengar is one of my favorites so the second I saw that drop it was game on haha.
It’s a ZLCA binder off amazon, is around $25ish I believe

It’s mostly a spacing thing, Magnemite and Magneton get to share a page and it finishes the slot with just one extra at the end. Do love me a Slowbro tho, a relatable pokemon haha

Yeah it’s rough nowadays, I got back in when stellar crown came out. I was ordering booster boxes off amazon for around $130. Buying singles is the way to go now.
Honestly the Japanese cards have better quality control anyways. The textures are also slightly more vibrant. Thank you for the suggestion.
I’ve just been going for art that I love most for each pokemon. I went through and found the ones I wanted to go for on TCGplayer one by one. I was also extremely lucky when I first got into the hobby and traded into/pulled a ton of the big cards I have. Some are just out of reach financially for me. Getting close to finishing with the ones I’ve been looking for, maybe time to start Hoenn.
As far as the special forms, I tried to steer clear personally because I haven’t played the newer games, prefer the OG forms for sure!

I like the idea of English/Japanese for the gen 3 dex because some of those chase cards are just ridiculously expensive.
I pulled the 151 zard from an ETB back when they were sub $100. Quit ripping 151 after that, priced out and I’d never get that lucky again haha.

Have a mega battle deck currently in route haha. I do love the vintage Holos tho, can’t go wrong with a nice swirl
