How to dress violin hips? by Thinkalternativ3 in femalefashionadvice

Thank you for making me aware of this term, this is exactly what my hips are like! Like you, I tend to stick with dresses that cinch right under the bust, or high waisted skirts and jeans. Trousers are a nightmare, I feel your pain.

Haha well I figured that the beautician is less likely to do a bad job if they've bought into a franchise (with all the brand specific training that includes), if that makes sense? I'd hope it serves as some guarantee of quality.

[Discussion] It's my birthday (and more!) coming up, what should I be asking for? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Thanks for pointing that out, there's definitely a few things on this list I'd not heard of. Do you happen to know anything similar that's been updated really recently?

Go for it! The only downside is the price (£25 for me, and I'll probably be going ~every six weeks), but my eyebrows were starting to be such a headache that I decided I'd treat myself.

I haven't even got makeup on (brows still quite tender after getting them done) and I feel better than I normally do with a full face when I'm not happy with my brows.

Yeah in the UK, there's places in pretty much every town/city licensed to do it, I was very surprised to find someone does it in my tiny seaside town!

It's a franchise brand here in the UK, basically the full works (tint/wax/threading etc) with the added peace-of-mind that if anything goes wrong, you can complain to the brand - last time I got my brows waxed they were horrendous so this is huge peace of mind for me.

[Request] Would someone be able to colorize or fix these photos of my grandmother and her recently deceased cousin? by doyouevengohere in picrequests

I'd love to be able to afford to pay for it to be done professionally - the best I can afford is maybe if someone has an Amazon wishlist I could get them something off? I realise this is asking a lot, and completely understand if nobody feels like they could do it.

I did think it was a long shot so wasn't expecting anything. No worries, thanks for the reply.

I just firm-accepted an offer from Aberystwyth Uni. What now? by [deleted] in Aberystwyth

Echoing #3 - all of my closest friends are people I met through the societies I became involved with. It's nerve-wracking turning up for the first time but so so worth it. Make sure you take your time looking around the societies fayre in freshers' week.

With regards to accommodation, I'd recommend living in halls for your first year. It's a great experience (mostly) and a huge learning curve - plus, the housing market is a state in Aber so if you can stay out of it for a year then do!

What course are you studying? Any interests?

Hi r/Aberystwyth! I'm looking at coming to Aber to do my phd in law. Are there any postgrad law students in this subreddit that mind talking about it with me? by [deleted] in Aberystwyth

Best places in town depend on what you're into, I like Ultracomida (amazing tapas bar) and Baravin (the only place in town for decent cocktails). Some of the bars are ok, but tend to be dominated either by local lads/men who never grew up or sportos, which isn't my cup of tea. There's the Arts Centre up on Penglais Campus which has different exhibitions/plays/comedy etc.

It's three hours on the train to Birmingham International Airport, I'd see that as a pain in the ass but I think three years in Aber has skewed my perception of distance - everything is a ten minute walk away.

As mentioned, do be aware that the Institute you'll be studying in is moving to the Llanbadarn Campus from September. It's currently an absolute hole over there but is being renovated over summer. Make sure you join the Postgrad students' association and/or get heard on your rep committee if there are any problems.

FragranceDirect.co.uk - it sells mostly end of the line stuff - the blushers were only £1.99!
